I don't understand why scholarship limits matter any more. You could just offer lots of NIL money to "preferred walk-ons" and have many more elite players available. N
It might get to that point (gulp) but right now only scholarship football players get the $100k/year.

It seems to be what a lot of talent evaluators have alluded to. He doesn't play in a big time high school program. I know he has done a lot of work already with big time QB trainers but not a lot of high level on field reps. You are right, I don't know squat, just putting together the general gist of what most people who know at least some stuff have said.

I like Maalik a lot and I really hope he pans out for Texas. I also hope we land Ewers and Manning. I don't think all 3 would play and or stay at Texas throughout.
He seems to be a great kid with a great attitude, im definitely rooting for him

If the evaluators are accurate and this staff can actually develop staff, Agbo, Campbell, and possibly Banks would be a considerable improvement. Throw in 2-3 more and we could be seeing some significant strides toward building a decent OL. Fingers crossed.
Long way to go there. Campbell going to USC again. We know he likes Riley. And Banks has a lot of people thinking he's going to Aggy. Remember, we suck until we don't.

OrangeBloods reporting there will be a recruiting event this weekend.

They weren't specific if it's geared towards wrapping up the '22 class, or working on underclassmen.

OrangeBloods also confirmed that Texas will be going in-home with OL Kelvin Banks on Friday, but the family isn't sure yet if Sark will be there.

The reason for that is Banks may decide to sign in February instead of next week, so Sark wouldn't want to use his in-home visit too early if that's the case.

Well hell. The Banks excitement didn't last long.

@TFloss32 What would you do? Would you try to close the deal now or possibly lose him by not having the varsity there when it could have mattered? Or do you wait, like you say, in case there may be a change in his plans?

If Ewers makes a decision for Texas this week, I'd want to see Sark use it and try to capitalize on that momentum.

Is Badenbough staying at OU or going to another school? If he stays then Campbell could very well still end up at OU.
I have not seen what he's going to do.

Luckily for Texas, they've been a constant in his recruitment.

IT added this evening that Texas is the favorite here.

I said he was very similar to Tyrone Swoopes before.  Physical specimen, arm talent, prolly not coached up the best, an extremely gifted but extremely raw talent.  Everybody scorned me for the comparison, but now that Ewers could possibly come to Texas, or Texas have a legit shot with Arch, the descriptions I’m reading are backing up what I said before.  Murphy should not compete to start at Texas (if the program has a healthy qb room and  proper depth) until his 4th year there.  A redshirted Junior. That would be ideal.  Some don’t give Swoopes enough credit for his talent and ability, he was picked up and played some as a TE in the NFL
