I'm a Texas fan, but damn I want good things to happen for this kid and I really hope it happens in Austin.  Love the pictures on the wall behind Sark. Kid has been solid from day 1. Best case scenario for me, Quinn chooses Texas and he and Maalik battle it out and Maalik wins straight up.  All the meantime all the recruits keep choosing Texas.

The Ags class will recruit itself to finish out.  I'd bank on them landing Banks, etc...

It's an uphill battle.  Hope for the best.

After yesterday it seems like we are leading the recruitment for LTG.

I think Maalik's most likely time to see the field is probably 2 seasons down the road. Quinn could start this fall and the next season before leaving the job open in 2024. That's Maalik's most likely opportunity to seize the job. I don't think Ewers really impacts Maaliks chance for a future starting job.

Now, if Manning is on campus in 2023, I think Maalik would have his hands full to beat him out for that 2024 spot.

12 spaces left what positions needs filling?

1 if Ewers commits take him for sureif not him a DB orOL

5 more OL need more but spaces are limited

4 DBS same as OL spaces are limited

2 WR

This would help balance roster still a way off.

Waiting on 12 th. Dec.

I think we are too quick to determine a Maalik's true development time map, what are we basing these guesses on, just a hunch; I see lot's of posts that he is "2 years out" or a "project"; no one knows squat LOL

Thats true. Maalik needs work on certain aspects of his technique. How long that takes to develop is largely up to Maalik himself. Foot work can be corrected rather quickly with a receptive player. It all depends on the brain we're working with. So far, Maalik checks all the boxes though.

It seems to be what a lot of talent evaluators have alluded to. He doesn't play in a big time high school program. I know he has done a lot of work already with big time QB trainers but not a lot of high level on field reps. You are right, I don't know squat, just putting together the general gist of what most people who know at least some stuff have said.

I like Maalik a lot and I really hope he pans out for Texas. I also hope we land Ewers and Manning. I don't think all 3 would play and or stay at Texas throughout.

Come on down, Mr Agbo

If the evaluators are accurate and this staff can actually develop staff, Agbo, Campbell, and possibly Banks would be a considerable improvement. Throw in 2-3 more and we could be seeing some significant strides toward building a decent OL. Fingers crossed.

I don't understand why scholarship limits matter any more. You could just offer lots of NIL money to "preferred walk-ons" and have many more elite players available. N
