I dont put that much stock in a name.....but the last 5 * named Malik that we got didnt quite live up to expectations. I have to hope that was due to ineffective coaching more than anything.
I thought he was a quality player at Texas.  His legacy is tarnished only due to high school recruiting service rankings and fan expectations.

we would have won ALOT of games with a team full of kids that played at his level.

Also, he never should have been moved inside.  That’s on the coaches IMHO.

IT mentioned the possibility of Sark leveraging this development into an early commitment from QB Cade Klubnik.

Either way, this upcoming week should be fun.
Why leverage the interest of a 5 star potential stud who seems ready to commit into a commit from another lower ranked recruit? Is Klubnik more preferred or expected to be a better fit. Asking purely out of ignorance of the two.

- Murphy hasn't played in over a year due to Cali high school being canceled, and he wasn't his team's starter in 2019
- the staff may actually prefer Klubnik

Worth noting IT isn't a fan of taking Murphy right now.

Are we looking at 2 QBs in this class?
Not definite, but it's on the table.

One factor will be how the spring battle goes with Card and Thompson, and if one potentially transfers.

On that note, one argument for taking Murphy (who is somewhat of an unknown on film) now is Sark feeling pretty comfortable with what he has in Thompson and Card, and they're both young.

Regardless, you don't take two highly rated QB's (seldom works out in the current portal climate), it's typically always the top recruit signing off on a lessor to join the class.  Murphy has some serious arm talent and he is definitely the take over Klubnik.   I like Klubnik, but... with his parents being Aggie's and the chance the newest Aggie QB commit goes pro in baseball, I think there is a good chance that is where he lands.  Oddly enough, Jimbo offered Murphy just a few days ago.  Why do that if you have your guy?!

Recruiting sounds great better commit while spaces are there. Looking for first OL commit and several more weakest room on team.

Earlier this week multiple reports suggested an impending closer look at Texas football set for Monday. It may eventually be the case but is far from a certainty as of Wednesday afternoon.

"I don't know for sure yet if I'm going to go out there on the 15th," Murphy said. "My quarterback coach is thinking about going out there to train with some guys from out there. If I'm able to join, and go with him out there, that would be a great experience. But if not, I'll be stable here at home. It's not a for sure thing.

"I do like Texas a lot. Texas fans are probably the craziest fans (laughing) that I've dealt with. They are the most tapped-in on my Twitter feed. As a regular person, you come to my Twitter and see so much Texas, you're gonna think Texas. That's just what's gonna happen."
