Malik is the guy I want. I believe Ewers is a lost cause until I hear he commits to UT. Malik Murphy is being compared to Cam Newton which is funny since that's who he wanted to take after at ten years old.
 
Cam Newton played on a Vince Young level the year he won the Heisman. Cam is 6'5 and 245 lbs while Mallik is 6'4 and 225. I would expect that he would add 20 more lbs in college.
 
This will also help to open up the west coast for recruiting This would be exciting.

A friend I speak to from UT is telling me that Maalikmas is going to happen. Soon. Was pretty giddy about it. He says it likely happens during or after his coming visit to Austin. 

I asked about Ewers and are we giving up on him . . . he said we have a 5-star with unique skills and a big time arm who is ready to commit to us. So no, we're not going to mess that up by playing a waiting game with anyone else.

I asked if this meant we'd only take one QB in this class. He wasn't sure.

I dont put that much stock in a name.....but the last 5 * named Malik that we got didnt quite live up to expectations. I have to hope that was due to ineffective coaching more than anything.
