Is the dude conflicted, playing games, or a head case? I know he has always liked texas but come on.
I think there is some conflict going on, just wanting to make sure he's making the right call I would guess. Nothing wrong with that.

5-7 would make me nervous about the decision as well.
Thought he was all about playing in the SEC ?. Could it be that the announcement that was supposed to happen during ou week of when we are jumping to the sec going to happen finally.

And when that happens, college football for all practical purposes is gone.  It will be replaced with NFL- lite.  Soon, players won’t even need to pretend to be students; let alone actually darken a classroom.
Lol that has already happened. Are you saying it is already gone?

Let’s just say we certainly don’t know now if a player wants to play football at UT because of its traditions and values; or if it is only because UT was the highest bidder.  How would you feel about Earl Campbell if you knew Royal paid him more than ou?

It has been this way for years. The difference it is all out in the open now... Earl has been on the UT payroll ever since his paying days. He knew him and his family would be taken care of the rest of their life once he came to Texas. LOL

No reason to compare the 70's to current times.  It's a different game.  Winning at any cost is the game now.  And that cost needs investors.  We're supposed to have some of the best investors.  So play the game.

I'm not getting my hopes up on this one.  All i care about to finish 2022 is having it announced that Devon C. signed.

I know the staff has to keep working on Perkins, but it seems like a wasted effort to me.

A 5 star that may be open to coming here? I go all in. Even if you don't get him there is no such thing as wasted effort. From that interview he looks like he could be flipped. We'll see...

It feels like Perkins may be seeking NIL opportunities. If UT can't get him, at least the cost to A&M or Florida may have to go up. I think next year a lot of 5 star guys may put off final commitment until February.

I'd put in the work for Perkins. Huge get at a huge position of need. He can start here instantly.

PT + NIL + NFL opportunity + UT coeds + program on the upward trend + no embarrassing ice cream men + no crotch grabbing fake army = why the hell not?

TFB update on Campbell today said they still believe Texas holds a lead for Campbell, but the lead has shrunk recently. OU has gained ground they think.

In other news, don't expect anything from Perkins. He doesn't even mention Texas in this interview. But, as a consolation, you get the distinct impression he's not going to aggy.
