Well shit.  I thought winning 10 games and beating one of the SECs top teams in the Sugar Bowl would've put UT in the mix for the top RB, especially one in their own backyard.  Texas still has a way to go.

According to TFB that could indeed be the case...when his brother (who's big on Texas) was asked if Texas was in Evan's top 5, his answer was "I don't know".

OU over Texas....that's unreal.  What exactly has Stan Drayton done in 2+ years?  Missed on bigtime backs and now misses the biggest one.  Here's hoping they can pull in Bijan from Arizona, because if they dont, the RB will be hurting in a couple of years.

If I’m Herman I wouldn’t give up on Evans, if we can churn out a 10+ win season and look good before NSD1 he may see the light

I hate to say it, but I posted a few weeks back that the handwriting on the wall was pretty obvious. It's time to move on and don't look back. Texas will be alright, although you do wonder where all of Stan Drayton's mojo has gone.

I have to seriously wonder if he just looked up the score and said "oh, yeah I guess Texas barely won". It was only a 1-score game for the first 9 minutes and the last 14 seconds. No one who watched that game can seriously say Texas "barely won". It was a beatdown.

Sounds just like AD back in the day.  The reality is that some kids want to be a part of building something, and some want to join something that's built.  Malik was one of the former, and though he didn't fully live up to his billing at Texas he still played an outsize role in getting us back to where we are today.  We don't land guys like Kris Boyd or Holton Hill without him.  Evans, evidently, is not one of those guys.  His top 5 are straight from the top 6 teams of the last 3 years.

This feels like somewhat of a relief to be honest.  This one has been trending away from us and now maybe we can really focus on others (though I'm sure we won't give up just yet).  Robinson seems genuinely interested, let's reel him in.
