Maybe Meyer will be available.I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if he was replaced in the offseason. Especially if a name like David Beaty hit the market.
No.Serious question here.
Do you really think Mehringer is stupid enough to burn some bridges with what most people think is the #1 WR ranked in the country?
I may very well be wrong but I don't for one minute.
I can't see how a recruit who's not looking for an excuse to go elsewhere would make a big thing about a coach stating an opinion about a player's draft potential, especially if that player plays a totally different position on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Makes no sense unless the coach did a hell of lot more / worse than that. I guess we'll see what trickles out over time.No.
Mehringer is capable of some bone headed things, but I don't think this was one of them.
He simply said that he felt those who left early could have benefitted from another year at UT. Is that false?
He said he didn't feel they were ready. Is that false? Maybe, but its also subjective.
From what I've heard, there were two ways of taking it and the recruit and family chose to take it in a negative way.
So IMO, much of this falls back on the Wilsons. I think there's enough blame to go around on both sides. But, the bridge is indeed burned.
We'll likely never know all the details. But I seriously disagree with attributing this to Mehringer when it doesn't totally belong to him.
We’ve heard two separate narratives to this story. That’s all I’m going to say at this time.No.

Knowing the source of the two separate narratives, and their respective agendas, would probably go a long way to knowing where the truth lies. We’ve heard two separate narratives to this story. That’s all I’m going to say at this time.
That’s not going to be put out on a message board. And there are certainly no agendas involved.Knowing the source of the two separate narratives, and their respective agendas, would probably go a long way to knowing where the truth lies.
What quote are you referring to?Which narrative would make sense with Herman's "we're not sure where that came from" quote?
When first asked about those comments from Deshaun. What quote are you referring to?
Elliott’s quotes/ the players declaring has nothing to do with the Wilson recruitment from the way I understand it.When first asked about those comments from Deshaun.
"we're not sure where that came from"
Oh well, thats different from what I heard. Maybe they circle back later if things change. Maybe not. Its a shame if not. He could be a very special player at the next level.Elliott’s quotes/ the players declaring has nothing to do with the Wilson recruitment from the way I understand it.
I haven’t heard of those comments having any effect on recruitments at his point. Those comments also took place way after the fact that I heard things went south with Wilson.
