Texas needs more than 3 this class. They have a realistic shot at Wright and need to hope Higgins pushes his decision date back.
Wright would be my priority. Get him and then Higgins is a luxury you can afford to lose.

Arkansas isn't going to neglect the state of Texas like they did under Bielema.  That's for sure.
They had no choice but to neglect Texas after that idiot Bielema pissed off all the Texas HS coaches with his "we'd kick their asses" comment about teams that run the spread offense as a Texas HS Coaches Association gathering. I'm obviously a Horn guy, but I'm also a Chad Morris guy having known him since his first coaching gig at Eustace.

I'm a little surprised Houston is a take.  I guess it's more because we've never seen his name mentioned much and honestly I've never watched his hudl so I have no idea what kind of WR he is??  Seems like Wright, Tongue, and McCoy will have spots no matter what.

Wouldn’t say that about Tongue. He’s not that caliber of prospect IMO.

Before anyway asks, I don’t think there is anything to see here with Texas.

This cracked me up. It was the first response to the tweeted press release. lol

"Friendly tip: If you want more traction on your press releases, don't put them them out on Friday nights at 10:13 ET. Real journalists have lives or are pretty drunk by now. Or at least that is what I hear. Personally, I have no life and appreciate the heads up."

Just my opinion, if a kid grows up in UT's backyard and flirts with other schools, how many resources do you waste to try and convince him that his hometown school is worth his interest?

Ya gotta keep in mind, a young man at 18 who suddenly discovers he could play about anywhere he's dreamed of . . might consider the chance to go off away from home, beyond momma's reach (so he would think), and see a life lived differently.

I get it.

Plus, a local kid isn't an automatic consideration anymore than a Dallas or Houston or East Texas kid is. It all depends on the team's need in any given year.

That's a mistake that's been happening for a while. Breese, Mayfield, Perrine among others are saying hello.

Breese was 5'11 195 soaking wet when he was a recruit. He was not the type of QB Texas would normally go looking for.

Mayfield was a LT QB, so there had to be some Garrett Gilbert syndrome working there.

Perrine, you have a legit point. But OU was in on him so early and we looked elsewhere.

You can't have them all.

Sorry my friend, I can't agree with you on this one. Foles was another. When recruits pop up under your umbrella you have to nail them down unless you're dealing with a legacy.

I thought Houston was suppose to ANnouce at like 2 P.M or today sometime? The right?

Practically everyone passed on Mayfield. I’m not holding that one against Texas.
