2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

since the basketball team employs different uniforms other than the traditional white and burnt orange, are they clown uniforms as well?
Yes.

They look awful, IMO. I guess we do it because we can, or something. Nothing on the uniform shows up well due to the overwhelming black.

I like and still like the uniforms we wore under Penders.

I get why people keep coming back to the uniform thing. It's exciting, but it's a like a quick fix that doesn't fix anything. If PSU, Alabama and USC can keep their uniforms, none of which are as cool as ours, and kick ass and recruit, then we sure as hell ought to be able to hang onto ours.

There's almost a 100% chance that that experiment will only make us feel dirty in the morning.

i'm definitely not going to dig into aggie draft history but orakpo, kindle, houston, s acho, okafor were all DLs.  being a Bear fan all my life, i know houston is playing DL and i think s acho did too.  so if you're going to note our DL/LBs you would have to include aggie's too.  again, i have no idea if there were any additional beyond what you've mentioned.
I dont watch the NFL let alone the Bears but I do know how to use Wiki  :)

-  In 2015, Houston moved to the linebacker position under new defensive coordinator.  As a linebacker, he recorded a career and team high eight sacks.

-  Sam Acho is listed as an OLB on the Bears - http://www.nfl.com/player/samacho/2495101/profile

-  Orakpo plays LB in the NFL - Brian Orakpo  #98 OLB

- Kindle straight from Wiki

Sergio Valent'e Kindle (born September 20, 1987) is a former American football linebacker.

HS - Kindle was coached by Bobby Estes at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas. Playing offense and defense, he excelled at running back and linebacker

Texas - After missing the first two games of the 2006 Longhorn football season with an ankle injury, Kindle appeared in 11 games at strongside linebacker
In his junior season, Kindle started 11 of the 13 games he appeared in, playing linebacker, defensive end and on special teams.

NFL - The Ravens have reached an agreement on a contract with rookie outside linebacker Sergio Kindle, according to General Manager Ozzie Newsome.

All that information is posted on those pages.  Lots of OLB play some DE but all the players mentioned played LB as well either in HS, College, or the NFL.

My point is the ags are trash.  Deshaun White should sign with the Horns over ags if he desires the NFL

Likewise.  I miss the BMW days.

The Sooners once claimed their look was equally as classic as Texas', Penn State's, and Bama's.

Then they went with some alternative uniforms starting a couple years back. And it was a train wreck. The sad thing is, no one told them it was a train wreck so the train wreck continues each year. Their alternatives are hilariously ugly.

Our favorite aggy mod the Hammster said on his new aggy site that Ossai is now a Longhorn lean.
Yep.

Herm & Co. have put in a lot of work. The Orlando factor is big, again.

BUT, I fear that if Aggy hires a good DC it could spell momentum in aggy favor. They're going after Aranda, who is a good DC. Just don't know if thats enough to get Ossai back in their grasps. Will simply come down to how Ossai feels about it.

That said, there is chatter that a commitment could come before NSD II, despite plans to announce that day.

all great information.  wikipedia is written by anyone who wants to write a wiki.  so you have to take that information with a grain of salt.  for the most part, people try to be accurate.

orakpo played DE for the redskins.  houston played on the line for the raiders.  s acho played on the line for the cardinals too.  regardless, its all good information.  and yes given those wikis, we have a lot more defensive side players drafted than the aggies in that list back x amount of years.   white should definitely sign with us not because we send more to the NFL but because we are Texas.

I think his sister wants to go to the same college as him and she is set to enroll early.

There is a rumor going around aggy circles that the Ossai commitment could go down tonight. Have no idea how credible it is, but its there.

Just in case . . .  :D
