I have to disagree there. If the extent of the article was that Herman was a tough coach, that's one thing. But the article also seemed to imply that Herman doesn't give a damn about his players. I can't really blame a 17-year-old kid for being dissuaded in signing with a team where the impression is that the coach doesn't care about them.
These kids are recruited for years not months by the time they sign. They are pros at coach speak and tactics used to influence them. By all accounts he was ready to sign with Texas until this article surfaced and was used to influence him. My point is that if that was the catalyst then the kid is too easily influenced and has the potential to be a cancer in the locker room. I don't think he is worth the trouble especially since he was a backup plan recruit.

I have to agree there. Honestly in addition to what u just said there what make Chip do this is beyond me. But I will say this.. Orlando could've saved himself the headache..and have an response press conferemce over the matter..Also, Bonitto could've asked Orlando if it was true. If thats he switched cuz of this without going to the source them he fell right into that trap like an idiot..So he locked the apology letter..lol that's translation for saying lol ..I. F''' ked up

Or he locked it because he couldn't handle negative responses calling him out for being a dbag.  Taking his ball and going home.

Again from shaggy. CTJ is a long time poster. Goes back in my memory at least to hornsfans.  He may be wrong but he is not a liar.

Chip Brown is allegedly an alcoholic and allegedly has a gambling problem. The rumor circulating is that he published that article in part to pay off gambling debt to someone involved with another program. I'm not writing this to be funny.

Wow! That really blows if it would be true.... don't really know what to say

Look Nik was a kid that hadn't been recruited by UT for the whole year, but more so for a couple of months. Those kids might be easier to influence, and honestly I find it hard to blame them if they get shown a malicious piece of reporting by another coach.

If what all of y'all write is true, Chip should get fired! There is no place for a liar that can be bought from outside sources within the UT sphere.

Change is never easy, especially when a losing "Me Me" entitlement attitude is involved.
Texas coaches, going back to the last several years of Mack Brown, Have been talking about accomplishing this with very little tangible results.   Not that it matters… but fans have been discussing this Issue on forums like this one for just as long.

The idea that Chip Brown could start some sort of revolt against Herman for being too hard on Texas football players was ill conceived.

We lost a recruit or two because of his tactics… Well so be it. You know what will bring top recruits to Texas 10 fold over the couple we lost? Winning football games.     Herman’s hard approach is certainly worth trying. Good recruiting classes and previous methods have failed for about a decade now.

Back to happier things. This is pretty dope.

I'm probably in the majority here but if this Chip guy walked into the room, I wouldn't know him.

Who's next to come play some football!?

Yea Bobby that’s the statement I would have put out to my members after all this. Stupid move. Going to cost you some bucks. Its almost like they want Texas to fail because it sells more. TEXAS WINNING IS WHAT SELLS. Personally I wish CDC would ban them from the property. See how that would sell. Don’t Mess With Texas!!!!

I have seen the reference CDC multiple times. What does that mean?
