I don't give a F@#K about Lampkin, Cherry, and Catalon. They had nothing to do with this game.

SignUp Now!Watson calls it making progress. Im sick of this guy already.Whatever Watson's offensive game plan (pun intended) is supposed to be...it don't work against good defenses.
Or am I missing something?
I think the same and I hope your right. If Heard starts against Rice; you are absolutely rightIs it possible they held Heard out because they kind of know he will take over, but they wanted to see if Swoopes could regroup and do something? I think they knew this game was a wash, but they have Swoopes the opportunity to do something positive. Or am I giving the coaching staff too much credit. They have to know that Swoopes will not recover from this coming off of last year.
Little late with this, but Hell play Lou Holtz!PLAY TREY HOLTZ!!!
— Twitter API (@twitterapi) November 7, 2011Swoops is now 20-47 for 150 yards and 48 of those yards were on one play. He also threw four interceptions in the game before that.
I think what makes this loss so very hard to swallow is that we hear all spring and summer long "this and that" and "Swoopes is really changing and coming into his own" and "positivity..." Then we get this utter shit show. I mean tonight was a horrible game. Didn't look as if we had ANY game plan going in. Just looked like we showed up and said "f it, lets go." The offense sucked and the D sucked and it really looked like the coaches had zero answers.I think this is a really truthful post. My concern at this point is whether or not there is enough patience in Austin for Strong to legitimately rebuild. I think we're less than six years away but obviously it's up in the air.
People seem to think that I believe the Horns will win out the rest of the year. I don't. I think this is an average team with plenty of inexperience to hold them back. I didn't enjoy tonight. We played a terrible game. And I seriously question a lot of things about our team. Namely, the decisions the coaching staff made on offense.
But what I'm not going to do is support this notion that the program is doomed under Strong. A lot of people are reacting emotionally to this game and it's clouding their judgement. This program is not beyond repair. It is most definitely in repair but it is not beyond it.
As I said before, freshman were the highlight of this game. If that doesn't make you feel remotely good about 2017 or 2018, I don't know what will.
People have this idea that because we're Texas, we're entitled to a winning program each year. That line of thinking is why the program collapsed into over-valued mediocrity after the 2009 championship game. Strong is desperately trying to get rid of that entitlement. It's taking time. Like all good things go.
I'm not sunshine boosting. I don't think this will be the last time we're feeling this emotional about a loss this year. But I do think that this program is capable of a come back under Strong. And I will defend that opinion if people want to challenge it.
it's really not an opinion. It's math. Mack was run after 8-5, 9-4, 8-5. And I totally agreed with that. After 6-7 and tonight's effort, 9-4 seems to be là ughable.I disagree with your opinion on records but I respect it nonetheless.
I share the same concern. Strong may not be here to witness 2018. Doesn't change my excitement about the play of these freshman tonight.
The last three games have been some of the worst offensive football I've seen. That responsibility falls on Shawn Watson. He had the spring and summer to figure out who and what plays to run.
Charlie Strong fired his OC and hired Watson after the third game of his second season at Louisville. For us that's after the Cal game.
I remember one camera shot from last night... after a failed Texas offensive series, Swoopes sitting by himself, on the bench, with his head down. They have to know that Swoopes will not recover from this coming off of last year.
