I am curious why we are forcing Isaiah Bond on the field, he has been a non-factor since his injury against OU, would like to see more Bolden opportunities down the field. Reflecting back on the INT that allowed for ASU to get back in the game, Ewers is forcing the issue for Bond to get involved, even when he is double-covered. Is there pressure from Sark to get Bond numbers to build his NFL Draft stock.

The issue with Bond is he runs terrible routes. He’s a great vertical threat but his QB puts way too much air under the deep ball.
They are a bad combination

This is astute. They need to get Bond on short to intermediate throws where Quinn can hit him in stride, jet sweeps, on reverses and WR screens.

I've said it all year and I will say it again, Quinn has done a good job, but this offense can only be maximized by using Arch. I think Quinn is an excellent short to intermediate throws and he has a done a great job on checks. With that said, Arch stretches the defense, has innate pocket awareness and is mobile. His legs and deep ball opens up the run.

Wouldn't it be nice if Sark would put in the Arch package and run a play action deep ball to Bond........

He should start and play just the 3rd quarter.
That would actually be a genius plan.
Teams go in at half making adjustments and we start the second half running a scheme built for a mobile QB who can sling it deep. If OSU can’t adjust stay with it or mix it up in the 4th. We don’t need to worry about hurting feelings we just need to win.
We will absolutely need to be creative and a little risky to win this game.

To quote DKR
"You dance with one who brung you"
Fly, post or slant should suffice. They are simple routes that don't require precision.

You could try that to start the 3rd qtr. but only for the first drive. If it succeeds you have the initiative and force tOSU to react to whatever you choose. As a coach I would always have loyalty to my players. How many games has Quinn lost on his own?

As a coach and player it’s about team loyalty (all the players) not the individual. Quinn hasn’t lost any by himself but our offense needs added dimensions that Quinn doesn’t posses, mobility and a deep ball. IF there is a way to win a game every member of the team should support it

There's nothing wrong having a Tim Tebow like package when they had Chris Leak. It forces the opponent to game plan against it and there's a multitude of options for our highly regarded play caller.

It was interesting that we saw nothing from the Arch package against ASU. I really think Sark tried to be really vanilla against ASU and it seemed to be a good approach until they scored 16 points in 5 minutes.

Rod Babers pointed out he used no targets to players in motion until the last 5 minutes of regulation. No Arch package.

I think he empties the bag this weekend.

I believe Sark tried to win keeping it as vanilla as possible until he had to run some plays at the end of the 4th and in OT..

We will need a big game out of J. Blue to win this one and I think Sark is saving him and Bond for this game.

Bond's injury has definitely hampered him and taken away the thing that makes him special, his high end speed and acceleration. Hopefully he is truly back to 100%

I'm not arguing against that. I'm just tired of all the Ewers negativity. This team is what it is this late in the season. Switching QB's at this point is no different than switching place kickers on a 50 yard FG with three seconds left. Its a roll of the dice which is stupid in a playoff.

It is time for us to enjoy Ewers last game or two and appreciate him despite his ups and downs.

I have been a big critic of him not reaching his full potential but he has provided us plenty of joy. Let's hope he adds two more Ws in his likely last season as a Texas QB. Hook 'em!

I don't think they are negative,Quinn is good QB but his long ball lacks.

I dont think calling out mistakes or underperforming is being negative. I get it some people dont want hear it and thats fine but its what fans do. We all do it to players and coaches and each other at times. I dont understand why people take it so personal. What anyone says positive or negative about a player doesnt change anything its just opinions.

Was that a saltine cracker? ;) Inside joke for @DBut82
