2024-2025 Transfer Portal Thread

Bobby Burton went out of his way to mention that Niblack was a good teammate and locker room guy. Didn't produce on the field but not as bad as the Agiye Hall take.
I'm not knocking the guy, but other than Robinson and half a year on Bond, Bama transfers have done nothing on the 40.

Davis, Hall, Billingsly, Blackshire, and Niblack. Texas is batting 1.5 for 7.

Definitely agree with this. Weird that we have had such a high hit rate in the portal overall but have a lot of misses from Bama. Davis, Hall and Billingsly were all pretty early on when we were desperate.

I saw an article somewhere that he was next year's projected starter. Wonder why he's leaving?

Even if he stayed, Washington would likely start in front of him. Dude wouldn't block and had the drops when he was targeted. He was Billingsly, without the attitude problem. He really wanted to play WR, but that wasn't going to happen at Texas.

I have a feeling we see a bunch of 20 personnel next year. Texas will cross train a RB into an H-Back or we see Agbo out at jumbo TE again..

Texas is losing a lot of talent to the NFL. That is a sign of a healthy program.

Texas is not losing much in the transfer portal. Also a sign of a healthy program.

Of the loses, Johntay Cook stands out as the player with the most contributions this past season but he quit midseason and flamed out at Washington already. Unfortunately, he isn't going to be an asset for anyone next season.

Sydir Mitchell is probably next on that list. Obviously he had a rocky season but showed some promise late before transferring out. He may have had an impact at DT next year if he could keep it together.

Jaray Bledsoe could have been a depth piece at DT next year. Amari Niblack could have helped at TE but he failed to beat out Juan Davis this past year so I am not sure about that.

TL:DR - Texas lost the fewest players to the portal in the SEC and of those lost, there was little previous or future contribution expected.

Young people seem to have meltdowns when things don't go their way. This was unheard of when I was a young man.

From CTJ, re Niblack

"Niblack got a $300k deal, didn’t play much and expected more. Good luck to whoever thinks he’s worth it. ATM would be awesome. "

Can’t wait for the first player to transfer mid game.
I am curious about what this most recent statement means. One rule that has clearly remained in place is that you can't play for two schools within the same season. This last statement reads like that is not the case - though, I guess to play you have to enroll at the new school and there are limitations on when you can enroll at a school.

hell....if they dont have to go to any classes as Dion said Shemyr did not do, what does it matter?
