When big money is involved, that's what happens. It's great that the players, the ones that are putting in the real work, are getting their share.
If you say so. lol

You can't see people leaving the fandom and think this is a good thing.

You say "work." But it is a game played with a ball. What most of us wouldn't give to be paid to play a game.

I hear you. But they play the game 50 hours a year give or take. At least what we consume. They put in 30 to 40 hours for each hour of game time; working out, practicing, watching film, etc. Two-a-days in August. A lot of work goes into the play. It’s not all fun and games. If all you do is play the game, you won’t get paid.

If they're going to get paid, should they then forfeit the free education?

I mean, if the free education means so little, just remove it from the deal altogether.

It's no longer about an education and playing a game to obtain it. Its about money so now, the education should be about the money as well.

College football used to be a proving ground for the NFL. Players obtained a degree and were able to benefit themselves by playing well at the college level. Not anymore. And it seems the NFL thing isn't what it used to be.

This is pretty much what I would have said. The game is only a fraction of what the student athletes go through.

- WR Adonai Mitchell is expected to declare early for the NFL

- nobody is expecting TE Ja'Tavion Sanders to return

- they've heard talk of a handful of OL entering the portal, especially those from the '23 class

- they received further confirmation yesterday that DT Alfred Collins plans to return

- LB David Gbenda wants to return, but there is some talk that he could go to Nevada with Coach Choate

- LB Morice Blackwell could enter the portal to seek more playing time, but his decision may be dependent on the departure of Gbenda

As I understand it the portal closed on January 2nd, and the school has 48 hours to enter it. So, since it's the 5th shouldn't everyone who is going into the portal be known at this point?

I would expect that a player entering the portal would want to announce it, since it's an opportunity to advertise he is available, and to say goodbye, and thank anyone he wants to thank.

Texas players have until Saturday to enter the portal since the team made the playoff.

I will add that note to the post.
