QE needs to work on his footwork, he throws a pretty ball, but honestly dont know if he has the live arm, he has gotten away with it his whole life by kind of flipping the ball, but I remember Major Applewhite after his brief pro camp realized he didnt have the throws needed to play on Sunday
He didn’t have the one throw we needed. But on that throw the defense needed to interfere with AD to make it where we didn’t get that throw. Don’t forget we were one play away from a win. Quinn has a pro arm. I had a better arm than Applewhite.

Over 95% of this board has been pro Sark throughout the season. There has been questions about PK and his defensive passing schemes and I have been one of them. I do have a question about QB pressure. Did quit blitzing? I don't remember AntHill getting in the backfield much after Alabama.
last year they put Jaylin Ford on the edge and in various other places and he had quite a few turnovers, this year they put him at IMLB and he is not the type to shred blocks and destroy the runner and he got beat on coverage, Washington had Avery good protection package, Sweat was not a factor, no Jhett Bush. I dont think in a PK defense he has an edge player like Will Anderson from Bama, notice our DB's had to make lots of tackles but only after the pass was caught. the Huskies exploited our weak spot and we had no answer for it

Go back and read some of the threads on the games ;)

Interesting that the two teams playing for the championship this year didn't make the list. Based on expected rosters this may be reasonable, but given the transfer portal and the nature of the beast it surprises me.

This is why I watch college sports over professional sports. There is a tangible connection that can be seen and felt between fans and players. College players grow to love the school and after playing become fans too.

That is connection you get from college sports but I never felt from my favorite NFL teams. Wish him all the best. I will miss Whit hes a good man.

I haven't and won't read the game thread but I've gotta say I appreciate the overall response by Texas fans at large to this loss and this season.

Based on pre-season expectations we definitely over achieved this year. The Sugar Bowl was not our best performance this year and we went up against a very strong performance by Penix.

Best news is, we are building a solid foundation and I have no expectation that things will slow down. Sark is building things the right way and there are players on the way to start improving in the areas we had some weaknesses this year.

I get you Baron. I’m pretty optimistic too. After the ou loss, I didn’t even look at HornSports until the next game. And today I saw that the guys from the statesman were doing a podcast on what went wrong in the last game. We ran into a VY/Joe Burrow and still had a shot to win at the end. The play didn’t work out the way I wished but I slept well because we showed up, played hard and lost. Maybe not our best game but hard. What more can you ask for? It was a great game and we were on the losing end… We played to the whistle.
Kirk Bohls has made a career out of being the naysayer on the AAS going on two decades, its what he does...Joel Klatt gave a good harsh but fair assessment of the game on his You Tube channel, he was very critical of QE last sequence (but as I said on another post I still the QE got his bell rung and wasn't thinking clearly) He did make one observation that I never considered, he said Penix threw the ball with leverage, meaning it was always on the correct side where only his guy was going to catch it. He also mentioned our horrific start and without naming names said that wasn't going to cut it

I'm right there with you.

In the NFL, it used to be that players would stay with teams for several years, many finishing their careers with the team that drafted them. When FA was brought in, only a few players each year would jump teams. Cowboys fans may remember TE Jackie Smith whom we got from the Cardinals. It was one of the few times the Cowboys went into free agency for a player.

So the players became intimate with the city and the fans because he would see them year after year.

Today, we have hired guns and the NFL is a travel agent. Very limited loyalty. Very little time to get to know the player.

When big money is involved, that's what happens. It's great that the players, the ones that are putting in the real work, are getting their share.
