Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Sources: Tim Brewster has resigned from role at Colorado footballscoop.com/news/sources-c…

Here’s us a good analysis. Analysis can’t go on the road recruiting but can help with on campus recruiting. Not many recruiters better than Brewster.

A depth chart note for next season, per IT.

Texas is expected to go after safety help in the portal along with their hard pursuit of S Xavier Filsaime, but they mentioned Jelani McDonald has spent the season working at the Star position (Barron's spot) learning coverages and techniques.

They believe he'll get a good look at safety in the spring despite being recruited as a future LB.

I agree….

But any bowl game outside of the playoffs is a glorified scrimmage. We would likely see. Worthy, Mitchell, Sanders, Sweat, Ford, Catalon and Murphy sit it out.

I hear there's a chance Sanders does not leave early. Catalon did not sign up for the senior thing against Tech. He has another year of eligibility. Only question on him is – can he physically do it any more?

I truly don't get it. The media and oddsmakers are just robots. Georgia has let everyone and their dog stay in the game with them this season. They have not been dominant like you would expect a #1 do. Why did they let Ga Tech score so much?

Oregon has only played 1 or 2 games against teams with winning records. They lost to one of the two.

The ESPN pundits are trying hard to rally against Texas. One common sense pundit kept repeating "but Texas has got scoreboard." The other side is saying "IF Bama beats Georgia, what a great win that would be and it would make up for the loss to Texas." We have morons having indirect influence here.

I will never forget Robert Brewer’s quarterback keeper up the middle for a touchdown that led Texas to a 14-12 Cotton Bowl victory over Alabama in 1982. Surprising fact, Robert Brewer is the last walk-on quarterback to start for Texas and the last to start in the Cotton Bowl. Brewer’s father, Charley, was a starting quarterback at Texas in the ‘50’s and his uncle, George, played with Darrell Royal at Oklahoma. Charley and Robert Brewer are the only father-son combination to play quarterback at Texas. Ironically, both Charley and Robert, defeated Bear Bryant coached teams, Charley defeating Texas A&M in ‘54 & ‘55 and Robert defeating Alabama in ‘82.

Nahlin at IT said Sark could go after Andy Avalos if Coach Choate gets another gig.

He has worked under Coach PK.

Andy Avalos was the HC at Boise State and just resigned, I guess he got tire of the University President just like Coach Harsin
