Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I totally agree with everything you said here. Until further notice, I am all in on Sark. Although this year's recruiting class does need to pick up. And before anyone says anthing, yes, I expect it to.

And, FTR, I was just having a little fun ?

And another FTR, the emojis on this board suck, lol.
If we get Black, Gipson and Simmons it will vault the recruiting class to five as the rankings stand right now.

Ok….perhaps you don’t mind losing to zero u. Herman was 1-4 in his tenure against them. Completely unacceptable.

Put that with NO conference championships and that record ain’t gonna cut it.

The bowl game against Georgia was a great game. The rest of his bowl victories…not so much.

Again, if Sark is 1-4 against zero u, and no conference championships after 4 years, it will be time to move on from him too
If they do, Arch will transfer out.

Talent level sliped under Tom?
Yes, it did. Herman had some small victories, but he never recruited to his team's needs. The list of recruits he stunk up the place on is long. Remember, it was so bad Ewers, who had wanted to be a Longhorn his entire life, decommitted and chose Ohio State rather than play for Herman.

Every time Herman entered the room, there were two people there. Him and his ego. That turned a lot of people off.

Bottom line, Tom Herman was his own worst enemy and couldn't get out of his own way.

Herman's last year the recruiting was going down and t

he good recruits were going elsewhere.  A lot of our top recruited talent transferred out and i feel Herman was losing the locker room so I definitely agree it was time for him to go.

Conference ever five years in last 45. It worse for last 20 or so years What about 2 titles.

Maybe Sark can change this.
An interesting question is how often will we need to win in the SEC to keep everyone happy.

My guess iis if we win the SEC every 5 years and have a bunch of play off appearances in between that Sark would keep his jib.

A playoff appearance would trump a conference championship for me.

wouldn’t that be badass ?

I've long contended that if you don't win your own conference, you shouldn't be playing for a national title. Just my own opinion.
I wouldn’t disagree, but we have seen that’s not the way it always works.

I just wish we could make the playoffs, it would be so much better than a bowl game

Hell, beating zero u is better than winning a bowl game to me.

That was Brown's problem he was happy with 10 wins and a bowl game. Conference titles did not mean much to him. Glad to see him go.

Strong sure wanted him to do good. He never really had a chance not a good fit. Thanks for beating ou.

Tom also was apoor fit Some say he had small victories. After Mack last years and Strong any victory was welcomed. Could coach andrecruit but ego tripped him up.

Sark  ad start but showing promise. This year will tell a lot about his future.

Here's my serious answer.

I have no problem with it if they are clearly one of the 4 best teams in football. Obviously, that's very subjective.

And, of course, it's all a moot point after this year.
I do. If you finished second in your conference, how can you possibly say you're the best there is? It's already been proven that you're not.
