That would be huge for next year.

I remember JWhitt talking about his love and excitement for the game was back and it's because of Coach Marion.

Would love to run back Jwhitt, Worthy and Sanders with a some Cook, Thompson, Red and possibly Neyor (if healthy).

The offense will need to rely on the passing game without Bijan and Roschon next year (at least early on).  Nothing against Brooks, but Bijan and Rojo made things click when things bogged down.  Passing game to open the running game next year is the key.
Bijan and Rojo turned a lot of nothing into something.  Brooks won’t be as good doing that but he’s good.  Baxter should be able to do that but we will need him to learn to block in our scheme before heavy playing time.  He will get out there quickly and often.

My thoughts are Brooks will be RB1 and Baxter will be RB2, while Keilon is the speed/receiving option just as he has been. Blue, in my opinion, is a likely portal candidate

My thoughts are Jaydon Blue will seize the RB2 role and thrive in year two here - he is underrated

The talent is there, I just question his devotion to the team, considering he opted out of his senior HS season.

Obviously Bijan is a generational player so is hard to replace and Rojo is very good and brings lots of intangibles so obviously those guys will be missed.

But on the other hand Brooks, Blue are all highly recruited and haven't been given much chance to shine, add in Baxter as well as Robinson and Wisner as change of pace backs and we should be good.

The nature of college football is players time out and need to be replaced, and then it's next man up. Time will tell but I think our running backs will continue being a team strength.

If our OL matures and improves on their run blocking (and pass blocking), we won't need our RBs to be generational talents.  I think our RBs will do just fine.

Totally agree that the RBs will still be a strength, but I think the passing game will have to be more consistent and in some cases, on point for the run game to take off.  The TCU game showed everyone what to do if you load the box.  They need to compliment each other.  A lot of other games were Bijan and Rojo taking a game over.  I don't think Brooks/Blue can take a game over at this point in their career.  Maybe next year.  Of course, I could be completely wrong in my assessment and i will gladly eat crow if he proves me wrong.

If a RT is found then off. line play should be better. Making it easier for RBS. Much easier to run through a hole than have to make one.

Passing game is going to be fine, and possibly great next year with better pass protection and Ewers settling down and making better reads.

at some point next year, Texas could conceivably have seven 5* starting on offense (or getting sig minutes)

QB Ewers 5*

RB Baxter 5*

WR Cook 5*

WR Whittington 5*

TE Sanders 5*

LT Banks 5*

RG Campbell 5*

I guess they had 5 on O last year

QB Ewers 5*

RB Robinson 5*

WR Whittington 5*

TE Sanders 5*

LT Banks 5*

Last time we saw this was maybe 2004 or anywhere close to it?

Keilan Robinson had 31 combined rushes and receptions in 2022. Barely 2.5 per game. Would like to see at least triple that in 2023. If not quadruple.

I've heard football heads talk about the quick WR passing game being an extension of the run game. If we have trouble with a traditional running game at any point, we can get the quick game going to the WRs.

JWhitt can be huge in this regard as he is a great and willing blocker. 2 on 2 with Jwhitt blocking and Xavier catching a quick screen can be potent. On the other hand, JWhitt is a running back when he has the ball, the quick game to him can be great too because of what he is capable of with the ball in his hands.

My breakout player for next year – J'Mond Tapp. Through the season, I would talk to my friend down there (he sees all practices). Repeatedly, he would bring up Tapp's name because of how good he was playing. Based on what he's said, Tapp will be hard to keep off the field next year.
