Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Why would a HS ranking matter in year 2 at UT?

Sark's pick as a starter after 2 games was Thompson.

Its what you do on the field in the here and now that matters.
It matters as much as a year 2 player from Ohio State.

Sark's pick didn't work out so well, an all time low.

Brett Favre would have gotten killed by Arky too. Lookout blocking.

No, it doesn't. This is why you see TWO rankings by transfers. The first is what they were at the HS level, the second is what they are considered at time of transfer.

Sark's pick work very well. Card couldn't beat out a guy who had a bum thumb. You still struggle with your homerism.

Seems a few are concerned Ewers isn't coming along as quickly as hoped. I think he just doesn't want to go against Bama? I hear Hudson relishes the chance to play Bama, not sure why..

Oh yeah, recruiting is about over, and I'm back. Got my good name back from Amber too.

Hudson Card is in the thick of the Texas quarterback battle. As we near a quarterback decision, it’s entirely possible that Card will win the starting job.
See the quote you posted, above. It is the first paragraph of the linked article or fluff as we used to call it.

No, as I explained, that 1st paragraph is MY personal content, then a joke, THEN the link, THEN the teaser from  the link.

Let's party!

We are favored in all but 1 game, that would be a big disappointment.
I believe you are referring to the RPI predictions. Yes, >50% chance to win 11 of the games but if you add up the percentages it equates to a prediction of 8-9 wins. To say 11 is expected means you assume we win all the games we have a 55% chance of winning.

What you're calling a teaser now was the first paragraph from that story, just as I said.

1. Said player is ranked based off his college ball, not his HS ranking.

2. If that's an all-time low, you might realize you just made Card a QB who couldn't win a job, despite an all-time low. I don't agree with you but that's where you went.

3. Not sure I care about Brett Favre.

Rumor out today Neyor could be done for the year. Who knows if true.
TFB saying the same thing. Just saying its a non-contact injury. Could be out for season.

RoJo will be out until first conference game, TFB says. They like Brooks as his replacement.

Hall better get his shit together then and Omiere and Whittington need to stay healthy and upright.  Hearing good things about Red and Thompson though.  Grabbing Milton is turning out to be genius.

Worthy, Whittington and Hall/Omiere to start

Bench: Hall/Omiere, Milton, Thompson, Red and Cain

Still a really good WR corps.

Maybe the Horns get lucky with 2 breakout Fr in back to back years (Worthy last year and Thompson this year).

Same goes for the RB room with Bijan, Keilan, Brooks and Blue from a RB talent POV.  What the Horns lose in not having Rojo is his leadership and drive on the field.

Imo, Angilau is the biggest potential loss. He may not be the best OL in pure talent but he was/is the best OL in talent + experience and is a veteran presence on the OL.  Hopefully his isn't quite so bad.

TFB paraphrased:

Cole Hutson has been working at right guard with the 1st team in previous weeks of fall camp, was there to begin the scrimmage. Junior Angilau was getting center reps.

Angilau left in a walking boot per one source. Angilau may be missing some game time as a result.
