Now that's how you use NIL!  Good for him.

Those companies want to use his Name, Image and Likeness to promote their products.  No money for nothing.  They're paying him to use it. That is how NIL is supposed to work. ATM, take notice of how to do it right.

Cliff notes? I don't want to subscribe to see the article.
Allowed me to see it for free, didn't realize it was subscription.

“I found a guy that’s kind of like me, in a way,” Whittington said Tuesday. “Gets the ball and runs it like a running back, just a bigger dude. It’s like having a twin out there.”

“He’s like a Deebo Samuel,” Whittington said. “He’s just super explosive."

So Whittington thinks a lot of the #1260 ranked player in the nation.

The staff would not have taken him if they shared your blind faith in the ratings services. Time will tell, but I'm guessing you won't mind too much if you are wrong.
It's really not about my blind faith in the rating services. I've just done enough research on how the elite teams recruit to know that they don't take these type of players.

Bottom line, the elite teams take fewer players ranked outside the top 300 than the not so elite teams do. And, frankly, we have too many ranked outside in top 300 in both this year's class and last year's class. We have to close that gap.

By saying "they don't take these type of players" you are basing that 100% on the rating services and that is blind faith.

In general what you say is correct,  but the coaches need to do there own evaluation.  Like I said in this case they took Red over if I remember correctly a guy ranked in the top 300.

If you want to compare us to "elite schools" like Alabama then maybe you should compare this recruiting class to Sabin's early classes, i could be wrong  but I'm guessing it would be a much more favorable for us.

I said at the time I thought Red would out play that ranking.

Dude was on a bad high school team, carried them into the playoffs by himself. I'm pretty sure he had to play a lot of QB during his HS career. I think J Whitt is a good comparison, a WR who turns into a RB with the ball. I compared him to Dev Duv when he committed. Speedster WR, great hands, RB with the ball.

Doubt we see him this year, maybe on special teams.

Considering our WR room and nock on wood, assuming Whittington stays healthy that's likely true, although maybe Sark will design some plays to get him involved.
