I totally agree, but why doesn’t he run more? He should be a running threat every play, but he’s not. That last 4th down play he should have run for the first down but threw it instead.Maybe its just me, but I think CT is doing fine, considering he's running for his life most plays. He's doing a lot of things right. His ability to improvise is part of what got him this job. If you will notice, in the 4th one of the few things working for us was Casey running when the routes were covered (RPO). We were getting 10 yards a clip. I wondered aloud why we didn't do it more.
When the offense grinds to a halt they should run Casey until defenses stop it. But instead defenses are crowding the line to stop Bijan, bracketing Worthy, and not even bothering to spy Casey.
If we had a better line, that discipline to stay in the pocket would be advantageous. But right now we need Casey to take off when the pocket collapses, almost every time. For some reason he continues to run laterally and throw balls away.
