Oh sorry thought you were in the know. Christian McCaffrey is CM. So maybe look that up. Julio Jones was a long long time ago but someone is arguing ratings have been down. There hasn’t been a season in 2020 so that has to be based on 2019 rating. But you just said 2019 was long long ago. Wow that’s some way of thinking there. Dak was given 30 million for 1 year, doesn’t matter if he had to take it. He was given 30 million dollar for a year. That’s a lot if money is drying up due to ratings. So show me where something is made up. I didn’t change the subject. Someone else mentions NFL ratings and money but I’m preventing you from staying on subject. ??
Thank you. I looked it up. The story is from April 17, not exactly recent but we'll go with it anyway.

Contracts do not have a "season" although during a NFL season you'll seldom see a contract negotiated due to the distraction. Instead, its the OFF SEASON, like right now, when that gets done. The Cowboys negotiated via "franchise tag" which isn't a negotiation at all really. It had to happen so its not the result of ratings. The franchise tag carries with it a requirement on the salary. So it says nothing, really.
McCaffrey helps your point and its not worth arguing, but it is very much worth being accurate about.
NFL ratings have been rising over the last two years, after taking a very concerning dip in 2016 (election year, Kap's taking a knee). When Kap left the league and left the sidelines, public reaction to it dissipated. It took a serious dive in 2017.

A lot has happened since the season ended in 2019. Goodell has announced the NFL supports taking a knee. So I imagine the issue will take the NFL ratings in the opposite direction again.
The more political sports becomes, the less people will be interested in it. Sports are an escape from the politics of the day – not where you go to get informed on politics. Thats like calling an electrician to take care of a plumbing problem. Just the wrong source altogether.
I don't imagine I would stay in business long if I featured a political landscape installation where I made political stances during the entire installation. Thats because people don't mix their landscaping with politics. Instead, they top of beautiful designs with a college football team flag right in the front.
