Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Hats off to our former H-Back. In two preseason games with the Raiders Chris Warren 3 has toted the ball 34 times for 196 yards and one score. The young man has a great chance of sticking in the league.

DL Andrew Fitzgerald has decided to give up football, but remain a student at Texas.
Goodness, he's already been taken off of the roster on the UT website. Does he keep his football scholarship? Does he get a new non-athletic scholarship? Or does he become self pay student?

I think it depends on what the school/program decides.

With so much attrition happening how does that affect our 19 class. Any idea on how many we can take.

I think the max is 28, with 3 being able to roll back to last year's class of they enroll early. Also I think Texas dips back into the Grad Trnasfer market again.

well, I'm not as well-versed on this subject as others may be, but my count has the Horns sitting at 80 scholarship athletes (that includes the departures of Fitz and Curtis as well as the new scholarship given to Durst).  There are 18 Seniors this year so 18 + the 5 open spots = 23 available.  Considering there may be a couple transfer candidates (Buechele and T. Carter and possibly 2 to 3 Jrs declaring for the draft, I would say HornfromATX is spot on with the 28 count.

This is a bummer.
Are all of the transfers and guys giving up football leading to the walk on scholarship presentations?  Figured schollies were available for the season due to attrition.

What happened with him? Great prospect. Great size, strength. But when he hit UT, he never saw the light of day. I figured they'd try to slide him inside some this year because he added some size.

I don’t really know where to put this but I’m watching Mater Dei on ESPN and wow... Bryce Young and Bru McCoy are beastly. No wonder everyone wants em.
