2019 Recruiting Board/Thread

Jimbo is 1-2 all time against the Big 12.  Just for good measure we'll throw in the loss against Herman and that Houston team full of 2* and 3* to push it to 1-3.

Probably talking about this one from tonight

But Tim, you're a top-heavy conference at a school thats on the wrong end of the top heavy.

You have no choice but to recruit for the entire conference. What are you going to do?

"Come finish 4th in a division of a conference!" lol

You were good at Texas and FSU because you had a great product to sell. At Minnesota and aggy, you don't.

Are we taking 2 TE's?  Seems like a 2nd take type ( ATM) with Cupp as the main guy.

Seems like an offer you make when you've missed on main targets.  I could easily be wrong, maybe Herman sees something.  Will be interesting to see what kind of ranking he receives.

Cupp and Wydermyer highlights look impressive IMO.

Nahlin at IT said look for Texas to take 1 RB in the 2019 class and 2 RBs in the 2020 class.

Looks like it will be between Noah Cain and Deondrick Glass for 2019

I've seen Glass play.  He is a player cut from the same mold as Porter.  And, like Porter, he was running behind an OL line as big as UT's - and probably better

But, IMO, both would have to wait until Ingram graduates or goes to the league.  Neither are in his class as an RB.

Another CB pick for Cain to Texas from a Miami guy.
He was at the opening in Florida this weekend. All the mods must have heard something about Cain. That's the 2nd or 3rd Florida based guy to CB him to Texas.

Seems like talk going around is LSU may be the main competition, but they already have a RB commit and he would be the only 1 here.  Plus Orgeron has the program on a downward spiral and Drayton > Tommie Robinson.

I respectfully disagree.  Before the knee injury, Glass was the best player in the class.  There was no comparison in athleticism between Porter and Glass as the latter was a couple of tiers above Porter.  Glass wasn't the same runner last season coming off the knee injury, but as the season progressed, started to close in on his previous form.  I think with another off-season removed from the injury, people will once again see what all the buzz was about.  Glass has a chance to be special IMO and hope UT lands the young man.

I will admit I only saw him play against one playoff team.  You could very well be right.  But I disagree with your assertion how much better he is than Porter.  Porter was damned good.  However, with a healed leg he may prove to be just what you think he is.

But I still contend that Ingram has a chance to achieve that rare tier of RB's, that the Ricky's, Bush's, and Peterson's occupy.  Of course, the kid has yet to take a snap in anger so I realize I am being presumptuous.  Also, a lot of things have to fall in place for him - OL, threats other than running, scheme, schedules, coaching, etc.

But I come from the Pleistocene era and have watched many a fine RB and Ingram is one of the special ones.
