#TexasFootball Spring Practice Discussion Thread

After watching those vids I realize how much i have missed football.

Granted its only been a couple months since last season but its been about a decade since we have seen legimate Longhorn football.

Hopefully Herman can live up to his hype.

Not good news here. Both Chris Warren and Zach Shackelford will miss the rest of spring practice due to injuries.

That is your starting center and running back. Both who have been dealing steadily with injuries since being on campus.

The one decent thing about having your starting center out . . . you are forced to find depth. We have the candidates, someone just needs to step up.

I share your concern at RB. IMO, it's Warren and then everyone else. Thats not good.

Yeah it does force you to find depth, but I know guys like Cuney have no produced favorable reviews when filling in. Seems like it's going to be a case of sliding McMillon over when it comes to game situations.

Wouldn't surprise me if Southall is gone in a couple months. Out of all the 2016 DT's I always thought him and Daniels would be the most likely to be attrition guys.
I worried about Daniels being too heavy his senior year of high school so he definitely needs to trim down some. I don't have any expectations for Southall just yet, but I can see him getting lost on the shuffle if he doesn't come along.

Cuney is about to start his fifth year at UT (RS SR). In that time, I've never read a favorable review, comment or anything regarding Cuney. If we're playing Cuney, we're not the OL I thought we were.

McMillon is proving to be a pretty valuable guy. He can play multiple positions well. Sure, I'll take him at center but I also think you have to keep tinkering and find another. Out of all the talent we have on OL, one of them is a center waiting to happen. lol

Remember when Cuney was almost the only take a OL in his class?

Yeah McMillon has been a very pleasant surprise and he is proving to be a valuable chess piece as Warehime tries to find his best 5. Personally I'm hoping guys like Hudson and Okafor keep coming along and are ready to claim a spot in the 2 deep this fall.

All the rbs were pretty much out except for Kyle Porter.
Makes me wonder if Herman should have added Eno Benjamin or another back to go along with T. Carter & D. Young.

Daniel (or anyone else): Considering the depth issues at RB, any thoughts on how quickly Daniel Young can pick up the offense and contribute since he's not arriving until this summer? With yet another setback, I'm not liking the odds of Warren making it through the entire season.

I'm beginning to feel that Warren cannot make it through one game. I wouldn't be counting on him to last.

It's going to be all hands on deck at RB this year. I expect every scholarship back to log some carries considering the state of the position.
