New Coach , New QB, New Defense, New Direction!

Everybody is blaming Gilbert because Shane is still on the team and they don't want to question the obvious. Why is Kyle Allen possibly transferring to Texas? To play flanker?

Ehlinger will not be the only QB Herman brings in.

Even if the Kyle Allen rumors are true, that doesn't mean Buechele transfers. Very little out there on that rumor so far.

Good gravy, I didn't say he was transferring. I implied if he wants to ever start again he might transfer.

I like having more than one quarterback with the ability to throw the footfall.  Are there any of you old enough to remember when Rice had two quarterbacks on their team at the same time, who both played later in the NFL- Ryan (sp) & King Hill as I remember.  Nice thing to have.

I can tell you things will interesting and exciting this spring as Herman implements his plans to make Texas great.  There will be a competition for the starting job at QB as they just will not hand it to Buechele  or Allen if he transfer and as someone already mention this could be a chance for Heard to grab the position one more time.

It'll be interesting to see who UH hires next.

Orlando? Applewhite? Maybe even Art Briles, Part 2? Any of the 3 can do well, IMO, but I'd go with Major if I were them.

I think Buechele as the starting QB will be one of those changes especially if Herman is the next Head Coach.  I just do not think Buechele has the athleticism, and arm strength even working the weights in the off season to be a starting QB and I could see Herman trying to find someone who is more athletic that he can coach up at the QB position to be his starter.

Kid regularly threw to the flats with the football covering 35-50 yards through the air.

Be happy to take the other side of that bet.

Outside of Duverney, I think the guy who benefits the most from no longer being saddle with a bad HS offense is Shane.

I believe that Charlie actually cost him some money this year because we weren't better, and I've come to the conclusion that it is lack of attention to detail, probably due to time constraints and his own tendencies. He is probably not a detail person That's ok, some of the greatest people I know are not, but he is in a job that requires it, or must hire it.
Very well stated. I think Charlie Strong is a man of the most highest integrity and honor, but allowing your team to have three (3) blocked FGs/PATs in one half reflects a lack of attention to detail... and an inability to adapt to game time conditions, IMO.

If Herman can persuade D'Onta to stay, that would be huge. His twin brother on the team... can't hurt.

Apparently Stidham/Herman spoke last night.
Would Stidham be eligible immediately? Does the conference have a rule requiring a two year sit out if transfers occur within the conference? Or does that not matter with him currently at a JC not even playing football?

When do the players have to declare they are transferring so they will be here for spring and I think since neither has played for Houston they would be eligible to both play next season .  If one or both transfer to Texas which I would be very pleased if just one did then it will make for great competition during the spring.
