get well very soon buddy!

Lots of varying reports out there. The basketball writer for the Daily Texan got Taylor on record. As usual, some people would rather be first than be right.

"We went to the hospital yesterday to check it out. X-rays and all. I haven’t been clued in on anything that happened yet. They put me in a hard splint. We’re just going back to Austin to get reevaluated and Ill take it from there. It’s not about me. Without me this team is still good. As you can see we won today." - Isaiah Taylor
On how long he thinks he will be out: "Just assuming a couple weeks right now. I hope its nothing too serious."

much obliged as per the update matt.  i just had a strange sense that all of the aforementioned presented information was rather arbitrary and misrepresented.  it was just all too weird!  thank god, that isaiah may be back much sooner that previously reported.  HOOK'EM!

Since it's his off-hand/wrist, I'm hearing that his return will be dependent on 2 things:

1. How does the team play without him? And/or do the coaches think it's good for the team's long-term growth to play a month without him in the lineup?

and, as it relates to #1...

2. How well does Taylor manage his game without being able to use his left?

I hope they don't rush him back, there's no need. All that matters is March. This team is good enough to win games in nonconference, we saw that last night.

I would not say March is all that matters but I do agree with your sentiment. What's important is Big 12 play in January. Do well in the Big 12, get a more favorable seed which may lead to great prosperity in March.

I like the experience Felix brings, he looks very comfortable bringing the ball up court and maintaining his dribble. He should do well in the absence of Taylor.

UCONN has some great guards but they have nothing inside. Even without Taylor I like our chances against UCONN.

The good thing about college basketball is all you have to do is make the tournament. The Horns have enough talent to win most of their games while he's out. If Taylor gets back in the second half of conference play, he and the Horns will be good for a strong tournament run.

I'm looking forward to a 3-4 seed and a deep run in the NCAA's.

A break IMO actually isn't horrible news (being that it doesn't require surgery). Sprains are tricky and teams usually rush players back. This should allow a full and clean heal.

Hopefully we can get Yancy some substantial minutes, because that will pay dividends come March. The other potential positive is that Taylor will have fresh legs come March.

In retrospect, sure, Taylor should not have gone to the basket. He got hurt. Hell, maybe Croaker should have been in with Taylor sitting. That is the way he plays, though, and blaming him for his injury is blaming the victim of a flagrant foul.
