Seen a few name calling, personal attacks tonight. Would like to see that go away quickly. I know it is a stressful, exciting time, but we are all on the same side, right?

that all said, I am personally a roller coaster of emotions. NS is getting beaten by The Chin. Mora, Strong and Briles all seem to be the leaders in the clubhouse at one moment or another. People love Franklin and then don't. We've been told that someone with 11 letters in his name should be taken seriously. We've been told someone who wears a certain type of cap should be the choice. And a players Dad posted on FB. There was some sort of vague allusion to Star Wars. I couldn't figure that out. even looked at some of my nine year old's star wars Lego figures for inspiration. None was forthcoming. my cancer stricken Dad was over watching the game in the first half and was rooting for Bama, knowing of my hatred of all things Chin-related. When I shared with him that an OU victory might result in NS catching lots of crap from Bama faithful, he immediately switched his loyalty and started cheering for OU. First time in my life anyone ever cheered for them in my house and didn't get their ass thrown out in the street. Weird, weird time, indeed.

I cannot take it. I cracked open the good stuff. Drinking Balvenie 30yr old. told my kids to put themselves to bed. God, I'm a crappy parent.

Good stuff! Pretty much how I feel these days...except I can't tell my two babies to put themselves to bed. Lol

Hope it means Briles will be at Baylor for years to come, losing to Texas every year for at least the next decade until well past 2023.

Hope it means Mora will give USC all they can handle every November.

Hope it means Strong will work hard to replace Teddy.

Hope it means I don't to read, write, think or hear those names very often anymore.

Hope it means the entire fan base is jumping up and down over a secret choice that got done while we all chased Snipes. And that it's a trend-setting, brand-building, statement-making, landscape-shattering, coast-to-coast-rattling, Cowherd-talking, Longhorn-Nation-bolstering ... hire!

 
I'm on pins and needles as well. Roller coaster emotions with each coach that is "a serious candidate".

That being said, Ellie I offer my prayers for you and your family. From firsthand experience, I realized 9 years ago that college football is college football. It's entertainment for the majority of us. Each one of us should be reminded to care as passionately about family as we do football.

Sorry to throw a turd in the punchbowl everyone! Let the hand wringing commence!

Indeed weird times! Pretty sure I've never said the "b" word (boomer) before tonight. That caused us to reach the hidden cabinet for a little 18 year old macallan with a splash! Need this coaching thing to get resolved.... cheers and always HOOK Em

Thank you Bustonius. My Dad is a tough old SOB. He's about to turn 83. He could likely give the Horns better MLB play than we've had lately. it's hard on the rest of us, but Dad will no doubt kick Cancer in the nuts a couple of times before he decides he's done.
