You might want to get you a slouch hat . . . .

No idea what a slouch hat is.

I can't see them offering Briles before EVERYONE on the list before him says no. He's at least 4 and in same cases 5 or 6 candidates down the list.

Briles will be there in a few days. Patterson will follow his plan and go after his top options no matter what IMO

Valid point.
Well he should be used to penalties, he had the most penalized team in college football. we can afford a delay of game at this point.

There is something about the guy that just pizzes me off.

Fisher has a son with a rare form of cancer. I believe it's Fanconi anemia and the fact that M.D. Anderson has specialists in that field makes the allure of Texas that much greater. He does have a buyout and it might be hard to walk away from what could very well be a national champion with a returning Heisman QB. These are things that give pause to playing the waiting game. It's now being reported by ESPN that Patterson will interview Briles and it's understood he'll be offered and take it.

My apologies on the slouch hat reference that's caused confusion.

I did a google for slouch hats and it pulled up hats like Briles wears.

It's Briles.

I don't think it is set in stone Briles is offered the job right away. Just a personal opinion.

Burton is adamant Fisher is the #1 target still for those that care. Not saying I agree with him just sharing.

Thanks for sharing.

Don't believe Fisher has a buyout.

Put me down as being very disappointed if it is Briles. Hope I turn out to be very pleased however, in the long run.

Waiting for Fisher sucks

It may be mid January at the earliest before the staff is close to being put together.

I don't think that's a good thing.

I'm like everybody else on this board . . . . ready to get this sheet over with once and for all. Personally, I'd be pleased with Briles. I understand others that may be disappointed. I'd give my left nut for Saban, but just don't think it'll happen. If we wait for Fisher and strike out, we may end up with Strong. While some would be happy with that selection, I'd much more favor hiring Briles if he's interested. I think this whole damn goat rope has given up all headaches. Maybe by the weekend we'll have a clearer course charted. FWIW.

I'm sorry but even if he killed the interview, there's just no way they would give him the job on the spot like that

I believe time is of the essence. Hell, Tampa Bay hired Lovie Smith one day after canning Schino. If you have the one lined up you want, why not go on and make the offer? I'm simply saying Briles brings a huge upside that's been discussed on this board and many others. Fisher is a risk and Saban is a long, long shot at best. I could see an instant offer and hire. that's the way things went in the hiring of Patterson. FWIW
