When Mack was cleaning up in recruiting they absolutely chalked it up to paying players.'m not sure what to believe about the aggies right now. I've heard accusations of "foul play" quite a number of times over the last 20 years, but it's rare that anything comes of it. I remember when OU got into trouble for having Bomar work at Big Red Sports and Imports. Prominent posters on OB alleged that Big Red was just the tip of the iceberg, that OU was going to be found guilty of a bunch of other stuff eventually..etc etc. Nothing ever happened that would be considered a fulfillment of those predictions.
I assume that the cheaters have gotten a lot smarter and it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to catch them. I mean...if you can't find payment of $350,000...something is extremely wrong with the system that oversees this stuff.
As a final thought, I remember when Mack came in and started cleaning up with recruiting, the aggies were throwing allegations of UT cheating around like mad. I think it's possible that it's just human nature for the side that's losing the recruiting battles to accuse the winners of cheating. I don't know.

I don't think the NCAA will do something but considering the aggies history of cheating and penalties there is no reason to think they wouldn't do it againUsed to get access to websider (now aggieyell.com) from an aggie co-worker. Every school that is getting its rear end handed to it in recruiting from an in state competitor accuses the other school of cheating. I take it with a grain of salt. Wouldn't surprise me if it was true but nothing would ever come from it if it was.
Only reason it was posted was because of the big time insider who put this outPDX is correct
This thread reads like something I would have seen on texags circa 1999.
Of course its true, it's widely known. Briles pays players too. So does Gundy. The NCAA isn't going to do a damn thingIf true, NCAA will drop the hammer on A&M. Don't forget A&M has never been good without cheating. A&M is a large enough name school to really start to reel this stuff in. NCAA will make an example out of them. That way the NCAA won't have to do it to a bigger name SEC school. Besides the NCAA can show the history of A&M and the rest of the sports world will just say it is par for the course for that school. That would be a win-win for the NCAA
I believe it probably is, but no way is it happening on the scale mentioned here. No way.I have no doubt the NCAA is willfully ignoring widespread violations, but I also don't believe aggy is paying players. It would be a career making story for any journalist and kids dumb enough to get involved in that crap arenakt smart enought to keep their mouths shut. It isn't happening.
This isn't anything new. There has been smoke for quite some time. Seems to have picked up since their move to the $EC.Honestly, this reeks of bitterness and naivety. If A&M was doing something on that large of a scale, something substantial would have leaked by now.

If one kid was getting that much money, another kid would be blabbing because he wasn't. It's not happening. More likely, they are fudging grades or ignoring failed drug tests to keep their kids eligible. We know Sumlin isn't much of a disciplinarian. My guess is that fudging eligibility would be enough without having to pay players.I'm having a hard time believing that A&M would pay 350k to a HS player with a knee injury. He must have had a hell of a lot of incentives in that contract to justify that type of coin.
