Wow long time Insider Santa Rita hearing A&M is playing players

Understand the Seals-Jones payoff was north of 100K. This isnt a shocker at all.
If this is true, then that level doesn't even register on the NCAA radar screen. Personally, I don't believe it . The $80K numbnuts at the NCAA office have no reason to ignore this level of corruption.

I hate aggy like any respectable Longhorn. But this smacks of losers envy. We're getting out-recruited by aggy and losing all sorts of overall momentum in football. Easy response: "They're cheaters!"

History is not on A&Ms side in this discussion.

The road less traveled

If true, NCAA will drop the hammer on A&M. Don't forget A&M has never been good without cheating. A&M is a large enough name school to really start to reel this stuff in. NCAA will make an example out of them. That way the NCAA won't have to do it to a bigger name SEC school. Besides the NCAA can show the history of A&M and the rest of the sports world will just say it is par for the course for that school. That would be a win-win for the NCAA
what makes u so sure NCAA will do anything. Nothing happened with Cam and there was supposedly an audio tape. Emmert will definitely not do too much to a sacred $ec school. We need to break from Ncaa. Teams can just hand them a bag of cash these day and there isnt much that will come of it. 2 scholarship reductions maybe. Ncaa is a joke.

hahahaha as much as i hope this happens, the ncaa is such a joke.

They don't cheat, they don't win. I don't know why any great athlete would go there without compensation.

Dude. You do good things there you get a double wide outside Hearne. For life.

'm not sure what to believe about the aggies right now. I've heard accusations of "foul play" quite a number of times over the last 20 years, but it's rare that anything comes of it. I remember when OU got into trouble for having Bomar work at Big Red Sports and Imports. Prominent posters on OB alleged that Big Red was just the tip of the iceberg, that OU was going to be found guilty of a bunch of other stuff eventually..etc etc. Nothing ever happened that would be considered a fulfillment of those predictions.

I assume that the cheaters have gotten a lot smarter and it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to catch them. I mean...if you can't find payment of $350,000...something is extremely wrong with the system that oversees this stuff.

As a final thought, I remember when Mack came in and started cleaning up with recruiting, the aggies were throwing allegations of UT cheating around like mad. I think it's possible that it's just human nature for the side that's losing the recruiting battles to accuse the winners of cheating. I don't know.

Does this shed some light on the Zay-Zay bouncing around and finally landing at A&M today?

1. Because the NCAA now has a reputation as a joke, they will want to correct the record.

2. A&M is one of the most penalized schools in NCAA history. No one outside of College Station will care when everyone is reminded of this history.

3. They are new to the SEC. NCAA can tout there bravery going after an SEC school. The longtime SEC schools will be glad to sacrifice A&M and push them to a lower tier in the SEC all the while having a bigger presence in recruiting the state of Texas.

I think the S-J thing was fairly well documented, at least from a leaks standpoint. One of his handlers wanted to play game$ and we wouldn't play.

Not Necessarily, but it does offer one possible explanation.

Of course, if that's the case then there's still the chance that tech comes back & outbids 'em.

(Just kidding raider bros) :)

Whatever agricultural paid their players this past year, they didn't get their money's worth with four losses...and that was with a returning Heisman winner, a stud offensive line, a fleet of running backs, and an NFL-quality receiver. Give it a little while...aggy will shoot themselves in the foot pretty soon so badly that even the NCAA will be forced to have to do something. The good thing about it is this...aggy getting caught cheating won't kill a conference this time, like it helped to do with the SWC back in the eighties and nineties. The fightin' farmers just aren't very good at cheating...certainly not as good as some of their SEC brethren.

Most penalized teams in the NCAA since 1953 when penalties took effect:

Rank Team Seasons Sanctioned (incredibly SMU has been on probation 29% of seasons since '53 and USC 25%)

1 Southern Methodist (TX) 17 7

2 Southern California 15 6

3 Auburn (AL) 11 4

4t Alabama 10 3

4t Michigan St. 10 3

4t Oklahoma 10 5

7t Colorado 9 5

7t Illinois 9 5

7t Texas A&M 9 4

7t Wisconsin 9 4

I was about to say, if they're cheating and still getting 4 losses, they need to seek a refund.
