JS/Burton stated that all or 2 of the top 3 did not like the CO-OC deal. So probably Wickline OC and Watson assit. HC in care of O....So there you go.

I hope this is not the way it goes down, but what can you say. HOOK'EM and OU sucks.

It may be Wickline but burton is likely guessing. Even IT says strong has leaked out next to nothing

I think the fan base needs to sit back, relax, and let Charlie work. It's definitely hard to sit and wait on an OC, but I'm not going to pass judgment until a hire is made. Even if I'm not crazy about the hire, I'll wait to pass judgment until I see the product on the field. After reading about the culture change that Charlie is already bringing, I think I'm willing to cut the guy a little slack in putting his staff together.

The Texas football program and the people that run it are not on the fan bases time..Let them work

We're Texas.... OC not needed! We set trends not copy them.

What starts here changes the world

I have a feeling all insider website sources are going to be drying up.
FIFY

I think people will develop more connections over time and some people still know things but it's WAY less than before and I think strong is making a big point to keep info in house.

Because all of the pumpers I've seen on all of the boards think that we have all the time that Charlie wants to get it done.

If you think we missed out on two of our top OC candidates because of Wickline's unconfirmed coordinating duties, you're crazy—and foolish.

That's my impression also. You would think any coordinator would want to coach with Wickline. He'll would enhance the offense with the OL play.

With the dead period ending there is a sense of urgency. We need a coherent message and an offensive identity. The kids have been patient but it's not fair to have them continue to wait because Strong can't/won't complete his offense staff.

That's a great point, although I was thinking from the standpoint that (a) the alleged coordinating role Wickline "has" is yet to be confirmed; and ( B) I don't think the university would lose a top-tier OC to the fact that Wickline was planned to hold a coordinating position since that is a decision that could be changed.

Finally, it's worth noting that Wickline himself said he would be coaching the OL and made no mention of coordinating duties, and the same was reflected in the first players meeting. I'm going to believe what we know is concrete before the talking heads at paysites that will say literally anything to cause choas and get people talking/speculating.

Jesus.................not on OUR time. Try 2 dates. The end of the dead period and signing day - mandated by the NCAA. Fairly certain that those 2 dates were set without any input from Charlie.

If I were a recruit I would be concerned.

Some people actually dare think the guy was a solid hire and think he's made good staff choices so far. He's yet to coach a game here and most people think it's logical to let the guy run his program and show us on the field before bashing the guy

They aren't the only ones. The only person who has been on top of things is Lotus Horn, and I think he was told by Bedford to tone things down a bit.

Well it sure is like the hiring is ass backwards. Hire the Offensive Coordinator first, then go after Offensive assistants. Quite logical and makes for good alignment with the OC. If backwards, you may end up with Watson and then the RB coach who thought he would be with a great offense, might want to jump ship.
