Isn't it great to post a question and discuss it inteligently without name calling. THAT is why I like Horn Sports. Tks for the discussion.

SignUp Now!While I truly want Saban to be our next coach, I don't understand what he has to decide about. If you believe that he was coming to Texas prior to Mack dragging his feet and crying like a baby after the Baylor loss, then you would think the reasons on why he was willing to come to Texas are still there. Did Mack really soil the situation that much that now he is seriously contemplating whether he wants to come? I just don't get it. Seems to me the situation is even better now than it was a month ago b/c Mack and Powers should have zero involvement going forward. I would love to be a fly on the wall when Patterson has these discussions with Sexton/Saban, because I honestly don't get what is left to be discussed and/or considered by Saban. What am I missing here?????????Because we're a holding pattern at the moment and we don't need this to blow up in the media. The smokescreens and rabbit chases keep folks occupied.
I was able to speak with my source a few minutes ago. Nothing new really to report as we're just waiting for an answer. But he did acknowledge the smoke you're all seeing and said to tell you all that the fact that you're not seeing Saban's name in all that means we're still in this with him.

That seems to be the only argument that makes sense at this point. I can't imagine that if the answer was "no", we wouldn't already know that. In other words, if Saban doesn't want the job why would he not already come out and say it. What does he have to gain from stringing us along? On the flip side, if the answer is "yes", then the unknown makes sense given the bowl game tomorrow night. I just can't imagine there are any negotiations going on with Saban and Texas at this point. Here's hoping logic plays into the current scenario and we have our new coach known on Friday or Saturday morning! You are a very perceptive individual. Tell your wife we all said that.
IMO, you're right. There is no longer a decision to be made. I think his decision was made before he got his formal offer after our bowl game. I think he already knows his answer. I think if it were no, we'd know by now or perhaps tomorrow. If it's yes, we should know by Friday or early Saturday. I would imagine that info will leak fast.
I think we're here now because he's got a team playing in a bowl and knows saying a word will hijack that whole thing.
