Embrey

San Antonio by way of west Texas

In every family photo from age 3+ to 15 or so I was flashing the horns.

I began at Texas and graduated from TCU.

DKR is on my Rushmore of college coaches and I have been waiting for a MAN to take his place since he left.

I never liked MB the coach from the day he arrived.

I am sure he is a decent man.

I believe in manifest destiny when it comes to Texas football.

I compare this period in Texas football as 40 years in the wilderness.

I believe that the championship occurred as a result of a solid defense and VY right, VY left, VY up the middle and VY play action.

The championship had zero to do with coaching.

Texas recruits itself.

The first thing I did as a Freshman (once my parents left town): I went into the stadium and ran sprints on the field.

Jim, from Spring, TX, now live in The Woodlands, TX - Went to UTSA on the cap program after chasing professional baseball and tearing my rotator cuff. Joined a fraternity at UTSA and had a fiance attending Trinity University at the time. After learning to like the city and getting involved on campus (quickly became President of my chapter), I didn't want to leave or have the tuition hikes since I was taking loans and paying my own way. My Uncle played for DKR 1960-1962 and I have mulitple family members who graduated from UT Austin.
