My breakdown and thoughts on the roster minus the potential signees. There are some good spots and some real issues. Also shows you how some positions were almost "over recruited".

Offensively, if Daje and Estelle don't get back it will be a huge blow.

My personal opinion: You pray Jerrod Heard, Duke Catalon, and Derick Roberson sign. They all are probably going to need to play in 2014.

Nick Jordan RS'd, and if Thompson sticks on defense I bet he moves to CB.

My main concern is QB for next year. My hope is Juco or transfer QB.

I would have loved to see what a new OC could do with him.

My sense is that outside of the OB and place kicker situation things aren't as desperate as I thought. We are losing a lot of high quality experience, but there is some talent left behind. What we don't know is how many players are going to transfer out especially with a new tough regime coming in. It is time to see if the new coaching staff can actually develop players for a change.

I sure hope Cedric returns. But whether he does or not, I expect Naashon Hughes and Deoundrei Davis to get a look at DE.

If Ash can stay healthy all season, Texas will have a great season. If Ash goes down again, it will be a struggle. Though the simple solution is to be so good on defense that it takes only 15 points to win games.

To make the analysis truly effective, you would have to deal with transfers and decommits based on the regime change. There are going to be lots of guys that want no part of a real S&C program, hardcore position coaches, and having to compete for positions that they already "earned".
