We appear to have a fractured fan base right now

... i concur upon the green tea. piping hot, large silver canister with natural raw honey & lemon. perfect...
I was being a smart ass, I hate green tea. And granola. And I'm watching the Saints game. But, I figured if I'm gonna be pegged for some blanket insult, I may as well play the part, you know?

Progressive liberal racists for the win!

....... And I'm watching the Saints game. ...
Did you see that GIANT graphic about the two Westlake QBs?

I mean it filled the screen.

Picture of each players on each side, with large letters that read --

"NEITHER PLAYER RECRUITED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS."

Thanks NBC. Really great of you to pile on too.

I saw your inquiry, I just didn't want to weigh in for exactly the reason you see above- drama. But I'll bite.

Using the 'race card' is exploiting race or racism for personal gain. It's a legit phenomena, but people are too quick to accuse one another of 'using the race card.' Discussing race or racism, identifying the existence of, or sharing that you feel race has been a factor in whether or not your career has gone the way you would have liked it to is NOT 'playing the race card.'

Of course it's subjective, but I don't think Charlie Strong was 'playing the race card' by observing that black men don't progress through the NCAA Head Football Coach ranks quickly or often, and I don't think it's 'playing the race card' to observe that some people still look down upon interracial marriage.

Now, if he were having a dialogue about something wholly unrelated to his personal experience and threw out an indiscriminate, "Well you're racist!" to underscore his argument, then ok... Maybe he's playing the race card. But making an observation about the challenges he feels he has faced as a black man in his profession? Not 'playing the race card.'

I DID see that. Way to kick a fan base while they're down, right?

A&M didn't recruit either as well....but they don't deserve a graphic do they?

I will have to try that with agave nector. On the 17 day diet, and I drink green tea like it's going out of style.

Come on. . ..Sumlin recruited Manzel . . . .and in doing so got him a $5 million contract for finishing 4th in the SEC west . . .

Sherman recruited Manziel to Aggy. He was already there when Sumlin showed up.

I am pretty sure Sumlin did not recruit Manziel at UH and he was already a redshirt freshman at A&M when Sumlin arrived.

About our fan base, when hasn't it been fractured? Nobody should know that better than echeese since he's been in several thousand fights on OB and other internet sites. I just read a fight between Applewhite cult members vs Simms a couple of days ago. We just don't get along.

I really don't worry about the fan base being fractured. Time/results will heal most of that. God bless Texas!
