Update on the #Bruuuuumors

ok Slimer.....if he didnt sign a LOI then what is the big deal? All he has to do is get on a plane to Austin and doesnt need anyones permission or release. He just drops out of USC and enrolls at UT.

a question I have is.....did he ever sign a LOI? I have heard that he did not sign by the dead line of the early signing period. All he signed was a financial aide agreement which would let him do what ever he wanted. I also heard that he had faxed in his LOI, but just did not want it announced until after his all star game. Which is true?
From what i understand he signed early and kept it quiet. He is enrolled at USC and on campus at this time.

If our staff was still talking with him late December and after the Sugar Bowl, then no he didn't sign because we wouldn't have been able to communicate with him.
There’s some confusion and gray area on this part of his decision. It’s a point many coaches wondered about with kids trying to keep a signing quiet until they could announce later on. I remember it coming up in the Joseph Ossai recruitment as well.

Daniel....that is what I thought.... I know he is enrolled at USC....but without a signed LOI, tht means nothing. Anyway, I guess we will be finding out soon enough.

You don’t have to sign a LOI, but some will sign the financial aide agreement and enroll. Either way he is at USC currently is will be counted as a transfer at this point.

on 247, Bru is shown on the USC class as "enrolled"....sys nothing about having signed a LOI

If he does hve to sit for a year can that count as a red shirt year?

Because you don’t have to sign a LOI. Sign the financial aide agreement and it binds the school to the player and not the other way around.

If the NCAA let’s him play right away with the Kliff argument, that sets an interesting precedent for future recruits as far as coaches leaving a program following a commitment.

they say that a player signs with the school and not the coach, but with the way things are going today with special trainers ala TFW and different offensive and defensive philosophies fitting a particualr players "game" you have to wonder. So when a kid hears the pitch about how well they will fit into a teams style.....what they mean is that particular coaches style, and if said coach leaves....well....what is the recruit supposed to do?

The whole thing has gotten to be a complete can of worms. I suppose the best defense a program has is to establish stability and that only comes with winning.....may we all live in interesting times.

Woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand
Who's wine, what wine, where the hell did I dine?
Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been
Come on, let's Bru it again

Do you, Bru, feel like I do?

Now I see why we call you SHA...short for SHAKESPEARE.  More wine for the gentleman.   Unless he's wrong of course, then it's a tour of the dungeon.
