Update of Mack Browns Announcement & Other Musings

The leave a kid in FL that won't play to you anyway. Go to Austin, talk to players and coaches. Then say " I love UT but I'm ready to retire."
I agree that visiting Dalvin Cook was a joke and probably shouldn't have the time wasted on it. I think the main reason for the trip to Florida was mainly to do his in home visit with Beck and Mack and Porter decided "what the hell, Mack will already be in Florida, what can it hurt".

First time poster. Really enjoy the site. I'm grateful to Mcphaul and all the others that share what they hear. I live in a little town in western Arkansas, and the only source of info I get is sites like this, so thank you.
I want Saban to be our next coach, but I really don't care if it's Saban, Fisher, or Billy Bob the clown (Bozo's brother). I think any of them would be better coaches than Mack. I appreciate everything he's done, but I think it's time he moves on and lets Texas move forward..
Agreed and welcome to the board.

It does take longer to tell the staff and players when you're in New York and Florida and your team and staff are in Texas.
If he wanted to tell players/coaches he would not be in Florida.

All these years we have heard about Mack talking about character and character building - not to mention integrity - if Mack wants to make this a hard process then how does this reflect on his character ? i say pretty poorly I hope that the powers at be will take care of it

Lets hope all the issues get sorted out so that our program can move forward

But it's more important to tell ur players/coaches. Even Beck isn't going to play for you.

Mack is trying to play with his own deck of cards and they are all marked. Take his deck of cards and burn them, then fire his a**. What are we waiting for.... My Goodness, what a bunch of

scared BOR, Powers, Patterson and BMD's to not do their Job. Time is a big problem and giving Mack a Job with the President is dumb as h*ll (DKR was not Like this Mack fellow)

In my mind, if this is true, Mack has written his legacy. Faiing to deliver and then demanding terms to leave that would impair the unoiversity's best interests shows a lack of integrity. He should be fired, escorted from campus and instructed to never show his face on university property again.

His firing and being escorted from campus should be open to the press. Humiliate him. Utterly humiliate him in public.

It's past time someone grows a pair and tells Mack the way it's going to be. You can resign/retire and have a position like DKR (who knew when it was time to step aside) or you can GTFO and hope to land a spot with ESPN. You decide now, but ya gotta go.

When someone is dying they go through different stages. Someone on 247 referred to it a the Kubler Ross Theory, where you have denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. I think this is what Mack is going through. Not sure which stage he is in right now, looks like maybe bargaining.

Take this for what it's worth. My friend Alex's dad knows an "insider" and everything she's told me has been pretty much dead on with what McPhaul has been saying. Like I said, take it for what it's worth, but I damn sure hope this is true. (Pardon the typo. "He has* told his coaches...").

I'm not sure how to get McPhaul's attention, but if someone can, please do and ask him to weigh in on what I just posted.

Hey McPhaul, can you respond to this?

That should get his attention.

 ;) :P  :D

He better be clearing more than just 1% of LHN. Better be getting a salary with that.

If we believe that the BoR meeting is relevant to Mack's situation then it is likely that MB has played his final card.

I think it is all scripted although I admit I don't have a copy of the script. If NS was going to bolt from this, he would have made it clear to Alabama that he was staying. NS needs for MB to be escorted from the premises. Period. Git yer shit and git out type of deal. To paraphrase what Jay Mohr said in Jerry Maguire, 'This aint show friends. It is show business'.

Suffice it to say that when the end comes for MB, he will be able to say that he took one for the team. He will probably come out an hour or so before the meeting and announce that for the good of Texas, he is stepping down. Although he must truly believe he has the right to stay until he passes DKR. Even if it is only he and those in his echo chamber believe it for one minute. He wants control of his ride off into the sunset and I would bet he will have more than the $2.75 million as the door hits him in the ass.

Appreciate all the information you give us McPhaul. Most understand that even at 100% there is still chance it doesn't work out.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.

I can't believe that Mack Brown has the university held hostage at this point. I guess this is what "politician" type head coaches are like. He was always better at PR than coaching, so I guess I shouldn't be suprised. At this point, I don't care who the next HC is as long as it is not Mack Brown.

This coming from someone who could not have passed grammar school with that sentence.
based on? JS reported just about 30 mins ago the Powers/Saban meeting went great and Steve Patterson has been given the green light to hire Saban
of course Mack wants more money and wants to make this hard. I suspect the powers at be will take care if it one way or the other.

These people are not going to let Mack kill Saban if that deal is really about to go down. Mack just wants a bigger buyout it seems and now he cant drag this out as MP mentioned with his stepping down already national across the country news

May not have passed grammar school, but i sure was right…..
