I'll be heading to the Superdome tomorrow to watch Melvin Hills play in the state championship game. Going with my 4 year old so not sure how much scouting I'll get done but will report back.

Melvin has a good frame, long limbed. He is not carrying bad weight. He will need a year or 2 to physically develop.

He was pretty explosive and importantly had good motor. He chased a few plays down from behind to clean up a tackle. Seemed to play too high, he'll need some technique work as well. Definitely a developmental prospect that will redshirt and look to break through as a redshirt sophomore or so.

Does seem like a good character eval and locker room presence. A teammate was ejected for throwing a punch after getting tackled, Melvin was the first player to go speak with him on the sidelines after the coaches calmed him down. He was also the last player off the field, the coaching staff was chatting him up and it was clear they have a lot of respect for him.
