Mack Brown then traveled to FL fo recruiting and Patterson returned to austin. While in FL Mack Brown received word the story was out and was livid. Enter National Media and 24/7 coverage. Forced to continue the cover story and with his agent calling media reports false, over time the one thing happened that UT did not want. It lost control of the situation. Mack Brown came to realize that the cover story had now become FACT. He does control his own destiny and can make his own decision. Mack Brown wanted to discuss further. Patterson does not. Mack Brown was told the school did not want to miss any chance it might have with Saban and wants Mack Brown out per their agreement. Patterson sources say is STUCK. He does NOT want to FIRE the coach but if forced to retain him into 2014 he would FIRE Mack Brown at the first sign the team was not a National Championship Contender and only provide the contract buyout and NO more.
