I want to believe. .. but why the waite? My question is he waiting to see if some players go to Draft and then make a decision? If he is waiting for that then I don't like our odds...

I agree with JimR that Turner doesn't play the same game as Embiid. Turner may fill the 'center' spot in a lineup, but that's not his game.

Two dates to watch:

April 16 - First day of regular period for kids to sign NLI's

April 18 - Jordan Classic in NYC. Turner is playing & some at IT are saying he'll announce after that weekend

I have read a hypothesis that Turner is headed to Texas and that he and his parents decided to wait to announce so the continued speculation would allow more exposure for some of Myles' teammates so they could possibly get a scholarship.  I do not know whether this is pure speculation or whether it is based on someone's real knowledge of the situation.  Whatever the case may be, as has been noted, several prognostications have been made that indicate Turner is headed to Texas.  He has said that he would announce sometime after the high school all star games.  One down, two to go.

His parents wanted him to wait until all the All Star games were over. I can't remember the name of the next All Star game he's playing in, but Turner was interviewed during the McDonald's All American game and said he would announce shortly after whatever the next All Star game is called.

Here are the two remaining games that Turner will play in and the teams.  Sorry if this looks terrible on a phone.  I should have put the info in a spreadsheet and attach it as a PDF, but I was too lazy.  If you have a big desktop monitor, it looks great!  ;)

Don't forget, that it is possible that this might not be over after the all star games.  Turner could well forgo the LOI and choose to sign a financial aid agreement whenever he enrolls at whatever school he chooses.

Goodness only knows, but I may very well have previously linked this "mix-tape" of the "Best" of Myles Turner's shots, dunks, and blocks presented in rapid fire fashion ... or one of you may have.  I am too lazy to go look.  However, I did very much enjoy just watching it ... so, enjoy!  I must warn you that you will probably be subjected to more of this random linking behavior until  Mr. Turner makes his intentions known ... I CAN'T HELP MYSELF, I GOTTA TELL YA!!!  ;)

So do I, monarch!  ;)   But, I don no know nothin, dang it!  I have been around so long, that when things go good, I am so Happy!  ;)   When they don go so good, I just reboot and start again tomorrow ... I cannot control any of it anyway, and it will get better eventually.  ;)   That reminds me, I have been meaning to add a post on that Happy Music Thread that, I think, Sirhornsalot, started on this forum a while back.  I found a happy song that is not sappy.  I think I will post it on Far West, instead.  You know, everything in its' place and all.  See you there, round Midnight, or earlier!  ;)

I got my Myles Turner tattoo on my back today, am I jumping the gun a little bit? I guess I can just say it's Ridley if all else fails.

To paraphrase monarch, utisdabomb12,  we appreciate your sincere enthusiasm!  I guess we could say, better you than us.  In the future, maybe you should not let hyperbole get the best of you!  ;)   Oh man!  Ya gotta love it!  At least this got me out of my Miles Davis reverie!  Not that there is anything wrong with that!  ;)

can anyone just imagine the amount of "jersey's" that this kid is going to sell should he commit?  can anyone just imagine the "sellouts" at the "erwin center"?  simply put..  a walking talking GOLD MINE!

It goes without saying that we are going to be pretty good even without him, but next season could be memorable with him.

TV promo:  Fade to black.  Cue the theme from The Good the Bad and the Ugly.  A faint spot of illumination strengthens from above to reveal a heavy fog roiling from let to right.  A tall man emerges from the fog, dressed in Burnt Orange unis, with a large brimmed dark Burnt Orange cowboy hat and cowboy boots to match and black chaps with basketball in hand.  It is Myles Turner!  Out from the fog steps two other young men.  They are Cam Ridley on one side and The Prince on the other.  Out from the fog to either side of them steps Jonathan Holmes and Connor Lammert.  On either side of them in order of descending height steps the rest of the Horns.  As they step in closer together, with their arms crossed glaring out from beneath their wide Burnt Orange cowboy hat brims, the light from above grows in Burnt Orange intensity, the music fades, while the VOICE OF GOD rumbles from above.  WE are TEXAS!!! ... And there is a Whole New Posse in town!!!  Fade to black ...

Reminds me of a story I read somewhere about a visit TJ Ford made to Texas during his recruitment.  Coach took him over to the Drum.  As they walked out on the basketball court, Coach supposedly muttered. "Why the heck did they turn the lights out?" as he slowly backed away from TJ, a faint spot grew to a white hot intensity revealing, at center court, simply a bench chair with a white basketball jersey draped across it with TJ's number and FORD emblazoned across the back while out from the surrounding darkness wailed, the simple horn refrain, "THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU ..."

Don't know if that really happened ... but at least in my mind it did!  ;)

Embiid went pro, so that puts Kansas back in the  game for Turner. It's interesting though, more Kansas insiders on 247 crystal balled Turner to Texas today even after Embiid's announcement. So the Kansas insiders seem to believe he isn't coming to Kansas.

no, dammit! they do not play the same position. this changes nothing for Turner. if he played the 5, he would not come to Texas because Ridley is there.

I think Self sees Turner as more of a 5. That's why he straight up told Turner not to come to Kansas if Embiid stays. I agree Turner is versatile, but there's certainty coaches that think he's a center. Turner at least considers Kansas now, that wouldn't be the case if Embiid stayed.
