Tom Herman

Houston is well coached correct.

Houston is undefeated and ranked #6

Ed Oliver #6 recruit in the country

Our best recruit #36 and we had to get him from Baylor.

Dont be homers. Face the facts apart from bucket loads of booster money we arent the destination we once were.
LMAO..... You must be an aggy.

According to ESPN, they say they have sources who say Strong is staying and the defensive staff will be let go at the end of the year. Strong returns for 2017.
Per Burton his source is saying the ESPN story is BS. But with that said I'm not putting any stock in any reports at this point. But if I was betting today Strong is done at Texas.

If Strong is back next year, next year will be like the last 2 years............and I'll find something else to do on game days.

I really commend the posters on this site for keeping things pretty civil after games like today. On some of the other sites, the boards have a melt-down turning into internet bar-fights and sensitive finger pointing amongst posters and Mods.

It can be semi-entertaining tho

The part of being here is we don't have Higs selling us a line of BS.

Does anyone have any information on Herman's possible interest in Texas other than we are Texas? I'd take semi-informed speculation at this point over the whole "money whip" argument.

I'll re-post this:   With the shit show that UT football has become since about 2007, it may not be that attractive of a head coaching destination..........regardless of the$$$$$$$$$$$$. Just my 2 cents worth. "We are Texas" has become a joke.

Herman has expressed interest in the Texas job in the past. If Texas goes after him, he will listen. Of course, I'd thought Heard would be the QB this year so what do I know.

I believe that if things don't improve, Charlie will be finished at the end of this season. There. I just said it, and cannot believe it. Furthermore, I concur. I don't know if the timing was wrong,or what, because I believe that Charlie is a great, hard-working coach. It makes me sick.

Hook 'em!

It's over Strong is done. The only question now is when will it become official.

Why would herman come to UT?

Legit question. His team is more talented, its HIS team with HIS guys and he is making huge head way into recruiting.
Doesn't matter how good UH gets that job will forever be a stepping stone job to a bigger gig. Texas has been and will forever be a destination job and it's almost common knowledge that Herman has had his eyes on the job. Herman and Texas make a lot of sense if we are talking coaching replacements.

Any coach worth his salt looking to move up will think that the Texas job is a great job and think they can get things turned. If Charlie has done anything, he has at least put more talent on the roster and has found a competent quarterback, so a new coach will be ahead of the curve than what Charlie had when he came in.

I would be more than surprised if Tom Herman had no interest in this job and I would be even more surprised if he turned schools like LSU, Texas, and USC this offseason when they come calling. Unless Houston gets moved into a Power 5 conference, they are always going to have play lights out to be in any national conversation similar to what Boise had to deal with when they had Chris Petersen.

If Texas is shopping for a coach in December, then there needs to not be any BS'ing going on and they need to make the man at the top of the list feel wanted from the jump.

If? December? Texas is shopping for a new coach now. Its over for Strong at Texas. The wheels are in motion.

I am saddened to say I lost faith in CS ability to be our coach. Yesterday was the last straw. The only way he saves his job in my eyes is going at lest 9-3 and not give up more than 21 points in another game this year. Unrealistic I know. Damn, I thought he could turn it around for us. Good luck coach Strong. 🤘

Settle down, Mike. I'm not advocating for him to stay.

I say December because I think firing him midseason will solve absolutely nothing at this point. If you are firing him, do it after the season and go get your man.

I know Oliver is a beast.  I wish we would have landed him but his HS coach and older brother were at UH (something along those lines) so it was a given. Besides two DT's, the talent level at UH is pretty mediocre.  Hell, UH used a converted WR at QB last year and still won.

UH is all about coaching.  Texas is all about lack of coaching and all about excuses.

Not being homer at all, just stating the obvious.
