Tom Herman is now following Jerrod Heard onTwitter

We need depth, there's no denying that. Would have really helped us this year if we had some depth at the position. With that said, wasting 6 scholarships for a QB is a little excessive to me.

Yep, with Braxton Miller returning and JT Barrett on the roster I think Herman trying to flip Heard is a long shot. JT Barrett is suppose to be their Heard. 3 Freshman QBs on the roster plus Braxton, makes it unlikely they are looking for another QB. They also have a QB already in this year's class. 6 QBs is a little much in terms of giving up scholarships.
believe me, I'm an optimistic person, but after ALL the events of the last two weeks I've become gun shy. I want Herman to be the OC and I think he will be, but I'm trying to downplay it for the chance he isn't and I have to come back down off my cloud. I know Heard isn't Zaycoven Henderson, but Henderson just switched his commitment at the last minute to a team he didn't even visit.

Bobby Burton is saying the OC position is down to two candidates now. Don't have access to 247 so not sure who the two are.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but he could be following him because he's trying to get a last minute flip to Ohio State? I hope it's what you guys are thinking, but i fear it's not.
Actually this is a very worrisome scenario, despite the post below stating that OSU is loaded at QB. Heard is a superb QB cut from the same cloth as VY and Braxton and Urban would poach him in a heartbeat if he could. OTOH it could also mean that Herman is our next OC and that would be terrific.

OB just posted Herman is the front runner and their sources say he would accept if offered

Bobby is saying its down to Herman and Watson. Should know something later today possibly.

Burton says either Herman or Watson. Sounds kind of good for us considering this thread.

I checked out Ohio State roster and one of the freshmen QB is a walk on. But, still a valid point. Ohio State has Sr Braxton Miller, then 2 scholarship guys JT Barrett and Cardale Jones who is a huge guy like Swoopes. They have a 3 star QB coming in from Georgia. Pretty set at the QB position.

The Sr they had this past year, Guiton was pretty impressive when Miller got hurt. If Tom Herman is responsible for Miller or Guiton, I definitely want him at Texas.

Heard had already said he'd Texas no matter what. And tOSU has an early enrollee QB this year.

JMO, but Watson is such a poor a choice for OC, that if he is chosen, I truly will be concerned about Heard.

And, to this point, Strong has not given me any reason to trust his choices. Chambers stays, but Akina, Davis and Searles are released?

Alert..throwing of kerosene on a fire..

Could be Heard is changing his commitment?

Just kidding..

Yep' date=' and we may only have 4 OL to block for them. I just don't ever want to be in the position again where Case McCoy is the best we can do.[/quote']
Based on gun formations (Shotgun, Pistol) I'm going with the Gatling Gun. 3 QBs in the backfield.
