According to Tyrone Swoopes the offense isn't different just sped up.......... Were we lied to ? No spread ? What do you think ?

Well, on one side you have to figure that they are not going to give away much right before a big game. Another way to look at it is that we don't really have a clue what the offense was supposed to look like last year, do we? ;)

Chip asked Tyrone Swoopes if they had added a lot to the offense since last season. His response: "I wouldn't say so." Swoopes said that players just have a better understanding of what they are doing and are moving a lot faster while doing it.

The positive I'm taking from this is that the team will be more familiar with the playbook and Swoopes Should have a thorough understanding of his progressions and check downs...We should be able to keep the Chains moving

As long as we don't see the cluster we saw last year.....SMH....I want to see an avg of 30 points a game...If we get that we have a chance to win about 9 or 10 games....Is that too much to ask ? LOL

What do you guys think of having Larry Fedora as a OC at Texas ? His seat might be real hot this year if North Carolina doesn't win more than 8 games.

Watson: Texas is 'totally different' on offense from last season

http://texas.247sports.com/Article/Shawn-Watson-says-2015-Texas-Longhorns-are-a-different-offense-39092353

“We're just totally different because of a lot of things,†Watson said. “We're not battling the same issues we battled a year ago.â€

The transition to an up-tempo offense was made easier due to many of the players on that side of the ball having played in tempo offenses in high school. Speed is the agent Texas will rely on to induce more yards and points. The Longhorns hope to snap the ball every 23 seconds, three seconds faster on average than the team did last season.

“We want to go as fast as we can,†Watson said. “You want to press the tempo and be inside of that. Go as fast as and – depending on what speed we're at or what gear we're in – we can go faster.â€

Maybe the offense is the same as in the plays in the play book.  But maybe it is different in that it is up tempo, the QB reads will be simpler and quicker and the QB's will be running a lot more since there is not the QB injury issue that was paramount last year.

From everything I've read, I believe this correct. I expect Swoopes to run more this year and I like with the no huddle the offense is more aggressive.

It's all clear to me now. All this hub-bub about the type of offense we'll run and so much mystery  . . . . watch Charlie break out the wishbone T. lol

There you go. At least that would be more unpredictable than last year's offense. I realize how limited the playbook was, but, hopefully we will see it opened up this year.

I would love to see us open up with a fake to J Gray and a 70yd bomb to Foreman or Burt on the first play. I'll bet you could hear the collective "Oh, sh**!" all the way down here. At least it might help open up the run game, even if Swoopes overthrows it.

Then come back and line up in the wishbone. Ha! I've got a game plan. LET'S RIDE!!
