The Mirage of the Terry Saban Interview

Actually I would put down money if I could find a line to bet. Bovada took theirs down and won't reopen it. Is anyone going to Vegas soon to check?

"What's with you and orangeman01? Does placing money on this instantly validate it for you?
Weird."

Of course not. I'm just looking for an answer or even a theory as to why Vegas thinks it is a very big long shot on saban coaching at Texas next year. Vegas isn't in the habit of losing money and those buildings didn't build themselves. Do you guys really believe that "insiders" have a better feel for things than Vegas does?
maybe there is more money coming in from alabama peeps or nationally... wonder if that's ever crossed your mind? the only folks who are really on this are message board posters. my friends who have graduated and follow the program at arms distance do not believe NS to Texas... and have no idea that this is a potential option.

I posted this on OB. It's appropriate for this thread:
I don't think this was an accident. It is intentional IMO. Patterson probably made a phone call to have the heat cool down and allow for a smooth transition. The Saban's said they were staying BEFORE the position was vacant. Hence mack was not pushed out because of Saban.

Also consider that Patterson's camp leaked that he turned down UT a week before accepting the job. It's a misinformation game
Another example of the bait and switch tactic being used.......Seems to be the rule of the day in this little adventure .

Remember, Patterson outright denied he was taking the UT job one week before he did.
And didn't he sign an extension w/ ASU in Sept that ran until 2018?

Orangeman01 is gonna have an absolute crap fit if Saban comes to Texas. Bizarre how she only appears on the board to shout down Saban rumors. She apparently has not placed any wagers or bet her monthly rent check on Saban staying at Bama, but continues to urge others to wager otherwise. I continue to believe she is either a troll or an existing Texas Athletic Dept employee who knows her days are numbered.
I guess 3 things in life are certain now...

@ hornsolo

Yup. People have been saying that Saban didn't want to appear to be pushing Mack out. I think this is a plausible possibility.

The article looks like a plant to me. Strange that the WSJ would suddenly come out with an article like this. A coach staying put is not really WSJ type news is it.

Many z's - with all due respect, are you willing to reveal your "sources" to legitimize your 100% claim? Because, if you aren't, you are simply asking us to believe every thing you say, and which is supported by nothing other than some nebulous "source" and your "take my word for it" position.

I am not trying to demonize you or your 100% claim - it's just that I have gone full cynic and I will no longer attach any validity to "sources", stated connections, big cigars, BMD's, ad infinitum. So, until I can see concrete proof of posters claims, I will call BS.

Please understand that I believe that YOU believe Saban to Austin is going to happen. But, outside of heresay, I've seen no evidence to confirm Saban to austin is remotely close to happening. In fact, straight from the horses mouth and not a "source", Terry Saban has said it is not going to happen - they are staying in Bama.

So I put it to you, if you were me, which is more believable - a "source" or Mrs. Saban herself?

And, to be clear, I'm wanting to believe Saban comes to UT so bad, it hurts.

Please prove me wrong, when I say he is not.

What makes you think they know anything about Saban to Texas? Don't they just even out the money based on the cash inflow and make theirs on the juice? That's the only 100% win scenario.

And the long odds shouldn't surprise anyone because people don't think Saban is coming to Texas.

Nobody reveals sources. It's counterproductive I would suggest detaching from the outcome and enjoy the ride. It will be easier for you.

Counterproductive to what? To blogs continuing to get hits and subscribers or to protecting the identity of the "source"? I can understand the latter as I have a "source" myself that I won't reveal because of my friendship with him and respecting his privacy. But that is just me - I don't have a blog.

But milking these "sources" comments to sustain blogs and create interest becomes tiresome and, ultimately boring.

There comes a time when they must either put up or shut up.

Terry Sabans comments have thrown out a gauntlet of fact - anyone have the proof that will refute her comments? No? I didn't think so.

I guess nobody ever found my pants.

Damn it, it's cold out here today.

And his wife does all the talking.

If you don't believe the "insiders", why open the thread?

I absolutely understand your sentiments and take no offense.

I frequently travel internationally. I have an affinity for languages; however, I've found that the cultural context can drastically change the meaning of what I might consider a succinct statement. I encourage you to look beyond the words spoken and observe the context. Ask yourself questions about the sources, timing, and publications. Then compare the totality of the circumstances with other known instances such as the circumstances surrounding the hiring of Patterson. Suffice it to say, there is much more here than meets the eye.

Why come out and say anything if you truly have something in the works with UT and your husband hates distractions? I think this is turning into a conspiracy theory and actually Tom Landry will be named the next HC at UT and his death was just a ploy to throw people off.
