#TexasFootball Spring Practice Discussion Thread

IMO, it's a big deal to hear this said, and by who it's said by. We're going to be a good offensive team next year because of how good we'll be up front.

"I think we've been getting really close together. I think we're really a family now, and I enjoy to say that because I feel like we've been lacking that the past couple years. So I feel like we're one unit."

- Connor Williams

"Spring break is overrated, let's put the pads on already."
– Breckyn Hager

After the second practice, Herman said, "I’m never going to comment on anybody’s performance in shorts. It’s just not football. We’ll wait and see. The Tuesday after spring break will be a good indication of who stands out and who doesn’t."

Hopefully, all goes smoothly these next four weeks – we've had enough rocky times the last few years.

No worries at QB....

2015 walk-on QB Josh Covey could be the answer.

“Covey might actually be a better option right now at third-string quarterback than Jerrod. The kid can run a little bit and he’s thrown the ball pretty well.†– Tom Herman

According to DB John Bonney, Herman's last words to the team at the close of Tuesday's practice were, "It's only going to get harder."

He played with the son of one of my co-workers. She said he did well in HS...we will see!

I heard that the pecking order at RB on Thursday was

1) Chris Warren

2) Kyle Porter

3) Toneil Carter

My questions is where is Kirk Johnson ? Is he still returning from his injury ? Or is he buried in the depth chart?

He's been out there from what I've seen. Not quite sure what the issue, but it's concerning that the effects of his injury have lingered so long.

I think he is just playing mind games with them. A couple of them are out of shape, so make the whole unit look like the weak link. It's a risky move, but if the unit doesn't respond in a positive way, they are probably not the guys you want there anyway. I get the feeling that he will have something very positive to say about that unit before too long. Part of the game..

YUGE truth to this. . . .

You guys are falling for coach speak.

You can almost script this.    Starts out hard, everything sucks. . .then slowly gets better/builds team up.

rinse wash repeat.

Keep in mind, TH learned from Mack and Urban. . . . Coaching 101.
