Top-ranked Texas plays host to another sacrificial lamb this week in the University of Louisiana-Monroe. The Warhawks were on a bye week last week so they've had a couple weeks to prepare for this one.

The Warhawks defeated Alabama-Birmingham 32-6 two weeks ago. Arkansas struggled to beat UAB.

Game time Saturday is 7 p.m., another night game in Austin :) It will be televised on ESPN+ and the SEC Network.

Quinn Ewers is listed as questionable but I would not expect to see him this week. In fact, I'd wager he doesn't play against Miss State, either. No decision yet on whether Jaydon Blue will be back in the line up. Trey Wisner and Jerrick Gibson seem to have things under control back there. Arch Manning will see his first start.

Ryan Wingo has now thrust himself iinto that category of people who must see the field and see it often. I am a big fan. Collin Simmons seems to get better every week.

My guesses on the injuries:
No Quinn this week, he may be a "game time decision" for Miss St, dress out and be available for emergencies. He will be ready for OU.

Jaydon Blue probably gets the first 2 series or so against ULM and then shut him down.

I don't think we'll see QE this week. It'll be Manning, Owens and whoever is next. Texas is going to empty the bench in the 4th quarter of this one. Should be fun for the walk ons.

Manning should get a lot of time in this one, regardless of the score I bet we see him well into the 3rd quarter. Owens gets a quarter. Potentially Sark gets some snaps for Cole Lourd (or Joe Tatum) the last series or 2. Not a long term gain from getting either of those 2 in there but as a reward for the hard work they are also putting in.

I think we once recruited him
John David Booty was a top overall QB back in the early 2000s who went to USC.

General Booty is his nephew (as well as John's brother Josh who played at LSU).

I think he had some name recognition coming out of high school. I even see some articles talking about how he could be better than John and Josh. Ultimately he was a 3 star QB, about the 120th best in the nation, coming out of HS. I'm not sure if he actively recruiting him or not.

Isn’t the game only on the “Plus” versions of ESPN & SEC Network? If so, I’ll be You-Tubing it from my phone to my TV.

If the SEC Network is on your cable list, then you'll be able to watch it. ESPN+ is a different story.

You know, I was very impressed with Arch last week. With that said, I still believe Ewers provides the best chance to win this year, but I think Arch has more upside and will be better in the years to come. I honestly can't remember the last time Texas had this. Maybe 20 years ago when Vince won it all and Colt was a true freshman. However, we didn't really know much about Colt at that time.

Arch is getting the reps he needs this year so he can be successful next year. Ewers will be QB1 all year barring injury.
