Patience this pitcher can't throw a strike. He will walk a run home.
Well, you sort-of called it. Nicely done!

Thanks for following along. Hook Em!

I got in just in time to see the 9th.

Tough way to lose for them.

Let's sweep them out now.

Gritty win, might have pulled peters earlier. Easy to say that in retrospect I guess. I like the energy of this team, expecting good things to happen is the vibe this season. Solid pitching with added bats this season is a plus! I'll take a win with only six hits any day.

How about this; we just WON a SERIES!! The last series we won was at Minnesota on March 24th last year, taking 2 of 3 from them.

This is a BIG series against a very solid opponent. Taking the first 2 is HUGE.

This is the type of game we'd have lost last season. I like this team.

Jeff thanks to you and the others for keeping us up to date with the baseball team. Do you feel playing these tough teams will only make us better down the road. My friends y'all have a great weekend.

Still inconsistent on offense. The bunt strategy is retarding the growth of the team. Texas has scored in 5 out 14 innings were the bunt was used, and only after the other team did something to help the Horns(i.e. errors, balk, dropped 3rd strike), going 6-29 in the immediate at-bats after the bunt.

Absolutely Jim. This team's approach is completely different than the last two seasons. And this type of game is one we'd have crumpled in last year. I like it.

Ended sort of the same way the last game at Clark Field did (against the Aggies).
Now that I think about it, you're right.

The numbers really don't tell the whole story hitting wise either. We've hit the ball pretty well in the last few games, but a lot of those balls haven't been falling. Eventually some of those will start falling and finding holes. Based on contact alone, from the games I've seen, our hitting is drastically improved. Last year there would be games where we would literally go a full game with only about 2 or 3 good swings. Barrera has been smoking the ball so far this year, just can't buy a hit.

At the end of the day we have a dominant pitching staff. If our bats can get us 3-5 runs a game, IMO we can make a Super Regional if not farther depending on the progression of the bats.
