Texas vs San Jose

We have game 3.

DYLAN CAMBELL HAS A 30 GAME HIT STREAK, AS HE HITS 2 RUN HOMERUN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 1ST.

After 1 complete 2-0 Texas

In the 2nd inning. 3 gives up 3 runs. Trailing into the bottom half of the 2nd, 3-2.

Bottom of the 2nd, Texas gets an RBI double to tied the game and a sac fly to get the lead back. While the 3rd out happened after the lead score occurred. Believe that O'Dowd went past the 3rd base bag on his slide for the 3rd out.

After  2 comlete Texas leads 4-3.

Witt went 3 innings.

Bottom of the 3rd, Texas adds 4 runs inluding a  run homerun from Kennedy.

We have now hit 7 homeruns in the last 2 games.  Kennedy has 3 of the 7 homeruns including a 2 run homerun,  3 run homerun, and a grand slam.

Sthele starts the 4th inning and has a 1, 2, 3 inning.

Texas leads 8-3.

BTW, OSU is destroying K-State today, believe Keith said it was 17-5 OSU. Not certain if the tech and WV has started their 2nd game pr if there is a score.

Even with the homer Whitt had a good three innings. Third inning was excelent 2 K's .

We are still in the bottom of the 4th, Texas has put a 7 spot so far in the inning. 15-3. The run rule may be used if the score remains like this.

Excluding no 9th inning at bat for Texas; Texas has scored at least 1 run if not more runs in 7 straight innings over the last 2 games.

Texas wins 18-6 in a shortened due to the run rule to 7 inning final.

This weekend Texas scored the most runs since almost 40 yrs.

He threw 40 (23 and 31 in his first 2 starts) pitches today and also answered the question about his readiness to sit between innings and go back to the mound.

I didn't watch live but twitter tells me he got squeezed a bit on the walk and that was followed by a wind aided 3 run homer. Overall, seems like a much sharper outing from him.

Texas RPI is 29 currently. Likely in position for a 2 seed, though in a region with one of the top 3-4 in the country.

Series against WVU could help boost that drastically, especially if we win at least 2/3. Probably a 2 seed even with a sweep next weekend but could be partnered with a much lower ranked 1 seed.

I did watch that part of the game and I don't recall him being squeezed. I had no issues with blue, he called it pretty consistent. The HR he gave up wasn't the best pitch (fastball over the outside part of the plate) and you have to give credit to the hitter who knocked it out opposite side of the park.

We should have had a sweep but credit to the guys for not letting that first loss getting in their heads.

I'll take this kind of season all time as a 'rebuilding" year.  I won't accept it next year though.
