***Texas vs. Kentucky Game Thread***

Great effort tonight. I like where this team is heading. They will only get better.

I'm not sure they will face a more physical and athletic team this year until mid rounds in the tournament, well maybe KU but we'll see.

Top-ranked Kentucky beats Texas 63-51.  Gritty performance by the Longhorns in a tough environment.

Texas gets a week off and then 2 cupcakes. They better be ready for Long Beach State though in a couple weeks, that team can play.

Valiant effort on the road in a hostile environment... key shooter out with broken hand. Despite early foul problems the Horns brought it and hung in there when UK showed second half bench muscle. Maybe we catch UK in MM and have Isiah back.

Hook 'Em!

Very proud of the effort. This team has the potential to be A LOT better than we saw even tonight against the clear number 1 team in the country. If we can get healthy and continue to mesh this team has what it takes to maka a major run.

The Florida Gators are about to be 3-4. Kentucky is going to have an absolute cakewalk in the SEC. There might not even be another tournament team after Kentucky in the SEC. Good thing Kentucky has a difficult nonconference schedule because they aren't going to be tested in the SEC.

Well, I thought 11.5 was too low.  I hesitate to say I was correct, even though the final score said I was.

I think the way the second half played out, especially with the way it was called, kept a victory out of reach, but you cannot blame a loss on the refs.  Both teams have to play within the same framework of officiating and make adjustments.

I do think we got away from pushing the ball inside in the 2nd half, at least from where I sat.  I also think that we had a very suspect lineup in there at crucial times in the 2nd half.

That said, we had KY on the ropes and concerned.  I think we gained some serious confidence in some spots tonight, and I believe games like this one and UConn will give this team a boost come March.
